Day 1-7
Day 1: Arrival Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up at the agreed meeting point by the driver I trust. After about four hours of driving you will arrive in Tossor. Now it's time to acclimatize, get familiar with the place, the guesthouse* and the people. * Our guesthouse in Tossor is family run and located right near the beach on a compound with an apricot garden. Each room is rather simply furnished, but has its own toilet with shower according to European standards. There are some communal sitting areas and a campfire site on the grounds; dining is in an open pavilion in the garden. Day 2: Fairy Tale Not far from Tossor is the "Miniature Grand Cannyon of Kyrgyzstan." It is small and cozy, but no less spectacular. In the light-and-shadow play of the setting sun, a wide variety of mythical creatures emerge from the relief of the red sandstone, making it perfectly clear why this place is called "Fairy Tale". Day 3: Tamga Gorge Scattered on the vastness of the Kyrgyz mountains you can find large stones with Buddhist inscriptions on them. In the mountain gorge Tamga there are three of them. We will meet one of them on our way through this green mountain gorge. But our real goal here is the hike - because the hike through this green picturesque mountain gorge is worth every step. Day 4: Barskoon Barskoon mountain gorge is famous for its waterfalls and today we will make a pilgrimage to the largest of them. The cascading waterfall is named "Tears of Snow Leopard" and lets its water fall almost 100 meters into the depth. The narrow trails leading to the waterfall also offer truly breathtaking views of the beautiful mountain landscape of this gorge. Day 5: Day Off Before we leave our lovely guesthouse and move to our next overnight stop in Karakol, we treat ourselves to a day of rest and relaxation today. Here we have a clean, almost deserted sandy beach and crystal clear water right at our doorstep. If you like, you can spend today in a different way, e.g. explore the place on your own or retire to a shady place with a book. Day 6: Dzhety-Oguz Our way leads us today on a jailau. This is, so to speak, the "Kyrgyz mountain pasture". In the summer months the Kyrgyz from the villages move here to let their cattle graze. Dzhety-Oguz is a particularly large and somewhat more luxuriantly inhabited jailau, which is accustomed to receiving guests. The young Kyrgyz here let us go for a ride on the back of their horses (riding remains optional; riding experience is not required). And of course we will eat in a traditional yurt. Afterwards we will drive to our guesthouse in Karakol, where we will stay for the next three nights.

Karakol
Day 7-10
Day 7: Chon-Kyzyl-Suu Chon-Kyzyl-Suu means "Big red water". When it rains a lot, this river turns red especially clearly. Maybe we are lucky enough to experience this. But actually we have other goals here. Chon-Kyzyl-Suu is in fact one of the best places for a relaxed extensive hike, for which we can take a lot of time today. We start the day with a picnic in an emerald green coniferous forest on the bank of Chon-Kyzyl-Suu. Afterwards, we'll fan out in small groups to hike as we please and linger in this enchanting place. At the end of the day, we really indulge in the hot springs located right on the banks of the rushing Chon-Kyzyl-Suu. Of all the hot springs I've tried so far in Kyrgyzstan, this location here is my favorite. Day 8: Karakol Karakol is a multicultural city that balances Kyrgyz, Soviet and Chinese - or more accurately Dungan - influences. Dungans are a small ethnic group that fled China and now reside in Central Asian countries. Karakol in particular is influenced by Dungan culture. Today will be culinary and cultural. We will have a look at Karakol, with its unique Dungan mosque built without a single nail, a picturesque Orthodox church and possibly the museum of the most important "travel blogging pioneer" (or geographer ;) of Central Asia. We buy souvenirs and eat Kyrgyz shashlik (of course, only who wants). In the evening the magical cook of our Dungan guesthouse* prepares a culinary surprise for us. (We will refrain from visiting the bazaar due to the occasion. At all other planned locations, crowds are not to be expected, according to our experience). * The guesthouse Karakol is family run and not very centrally located in Karakol. All rooms are equipped with private shower and toilet according to European standards. There is a common lounge, dining room and an enclosed outdoor area. For a small fee the hostess offers laundry service. Day 9: Three mountain lakes We will conclude our three-day trip to the Karakol area with a drive to the "three mountain lakes" in the Zhuuku Mountain Gorge. You may wonder what lakes these are? Well, they are quite remote, so no official name has been given to them. To get there, we drive through my favorite mountain gorge "Zhuuku", cross a river and a 3633m pass. All three lakes have different colors. The first one is azure blue, the second one is mint green and the third one? I haven't seen the third one yet. But we will try to get that far this time. So I am as excited about this day as you are. In the evening we move into our final place for the night - the yurt camp Tossor.

Tossor
Day 10-12
Day 10: Day Off The yurt camp* wakes up its guests for breakfast with the gong. You wake up and realize that you are in a yurt and that today you can let yourself drift all day in the atmosphere of the yurt camp. After all, today we treat ourselves to rest and relaxation after the long Karakol excursion. The beach is right outside the door and the lovingly designed garden invites you to linger. * The yurt camp Tossor was created from a project for cultural encounters. Various small national and international art and culture festivals take place here every year on the spacious grounds. Therefore, this area is decorated with numerous art installations and objects, which create a special atmosphere in this camp. The yurts traditionally do not have furniture or WC; sleeping is on the floor wrapped in thick sheepskin blankets (warm enough). WC and showers are located on the premises; the beach is in close proximity. Day 11: Boat trip Today we say a proper farewell to the "Pearl of Kyrgyzstan" - the Issyk-Kul. We will get on a motorboat and sail through the azure blue towards the sunset.

Bishkek
Day 12-13
Day 12: Departure Bishkek I hope you leave this place happy and bring home the best impressions about the country, the people and the landscape. I hope that your memory and the memory of your smartphone are filled to the brim with great memories. And maybe it won't be our last trip together. :) With the departure towards Bishkek our tour ends. But I will accompany the group to help with the PCR test procedure in Bishkek. We will discuss the coordination of this day in the group as soon as all departure times are fixed.
