Details about this trip
Get ready for an epic, budget-friendly overland expedition from the bustling streets of Istanbul to the deep, untamed East of Turkey. This journey is designed for true travelers who want to experience the authentic soul of Mesopotamia without breaking the bank. We will travel like locals using buses and trains, cross spectacular volcanic valleys in Cappadocia, explore the ancient bazaars of Sanliurfa, and wander through the golden alleys of Mardin. Our final frontier will be the breathtaking Lake Van, surrounded by remote mountains. We will skip overpriced tourist traps to focus on hidden spots, incredible street food, and unforgettable shared adventures, keeping costs extremely low while maximizing the fun!

I’ve spent the last few years traveling and working around the world. Every journey has taught me to appreciate smart, independent travel. My style is relaxed but active: I love exploring cities like a local, discovering hidden spots in nature, and sharing a good meal. For me, a great trip is all about freedom, curiosity, and good vibes with an open-minded group.

Our accommodation will be a mix of well-located social hostels in the big cities to easily experience the local vibe, and shared apartments or guesthouses whenever possible to enjoy more comfort and space as a group. The focus is on staying in clean, highly rated, and central places that keep us close to the action while offering a great environment to relax after a long day of exploring.
