Day 1-2
Our first encounter with Azores will be in Ponta Delgada, the capital of São Miguel, a charming Atlantic city where tradition and local life blend with a relaxed atmosphere. We will have our base here for the whole trip. From there, we will move by own our car or van to every other place we visit in the island. As all travelers arrive, we’ll take the opportunity to stroll through its historic streets, along the waterfront, and around its lively squares. A perfect introduction to the island pace, volcanic essence, and unique personality.

Sete Cidades
Day 2-3
We’ll start at the Vista do Rei viewpoint, offering a spectacular panorama of the Sete Cidades lagoons. From there, we’ll embark on a 14 km trek around the volcanic caldera along the mountain ridge, with incredible views of the crater and the ocean. Upon descending to the village, those who wish can complete the experience with a kayak on the lagoon. An active day immersed in volcanic nature.

Ribeira Grande
Day 3-4
We’ll explore Ribeira Grande and the wild beaches of the island’s north coast, following its volcanic shoreline and surfer-friendly atmosphere. At one of its beaches, such as Santa Bárbara, there will be the option to surf and enjoy the Atlantic at one of São Miguel’s best spots. In the afternoon, we can relax in the hot springs of Ponta da Ferraria, bathing in the warm sea at sunset.

Lagoa do Fogo
Day 4-5
We’ll explore the stunning Lagoa do Fogo, one of the island’s natural gems. We’ll embark on an approximately 11 km (round-trip) trek down to the lagoon’s shore, passing through completely untouched volcanic landscapes. After the hike, we’ll head to Caloura, where we’ll enjoy a fresh seafood lunch by the sea in a tranquil and authentic setting.

Furnas
Day 5-6
We’ll discover Furnas, one of the island’s most special places, surrounded by fumaroles and volcanic landscapes. We’ll stroll through the geothermal area and the lagoon before trying the legendary Cozido das Furnas, a traditional stew cooked underground using volcanic heat. In the afternoon, we’ll relax in the thermal pools of Poça da Dona Beija, enjoying their warm waters in the heart of nature.

Salto do Cabrito
Day 6-7
We’ll explore Salto do Cabrito, a spectacular waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation, where we can swim and enjoy this unique natural environment. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Vila Franca do Campo, strolling along its coastal area and discovering its quieter corners, with time to relax and continue enjoying the Atlantic scenery. We will also try the famous Queixadas, the best dessert of the island.

Gorreana Tea Factory
Day 7-8
We’ll hike to Salto do Prego, a beautiful waterfall hidden among lush greenery, where we can swim and enjoy a stunning natural setting after a simple and very scenic route. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Chá Gorreana plantations, the only green tea plantation in Europe, where we’ll learn about its history and traditional production process while strolling through the green fields overlooking the ocean.

Ponta Delgada
Day 8
We’ll say goodbye to the Azores once more in the capital of these unique and special islands. It will be the perfect moment for some last-minute shopping and to enjoy the final hours of adventure together before returning to our home country.
