Nina probably knows all the nice secret spots in Madeira, from beautiful coastal hikes to waterfalls and levadas. If you're allergic to tourist crowds, ask her to lead the way. However, be prepared to encounter wilderness and adventures; it's a hike, not a photoshoot :) So if you're curious, fit, and energetic, you should like what she has prepared. We had a house with a terrace and the most gorgeous views of Funchal; even my Madeiran friend was picturing the New Year's celebration there. But the whole first floor of that house didn't have a single mirror, so good luck matching the nice views around without exercising a bit more to reach the mirror on the 2nd :) If selfies are an integral part of your vacation, talk to Nina first to see if your expectations match what the trip has to offer. It does guarantee you an adventure. I'm glad I was a part of it, cause it's something to remember—the beautiful, the fun, as well as the scary parts of it. Overall, it was well organized. We even managed to finish the last hike a couple hours before my flight out. So thanks to Nina for being able to accommodate the preferences and schedules of everyone. It was a nice group of people joining in, not only the ones living in the house but also friends of Nina and other nomads on the island. Oh, and the last important thing to mention is that the price was more than worth it, considering how much effort Nina has put into it.
