Caniço
Day 1-31
This will be your base for the magical stay. π‘ You will be staying in a very large, modern, cosy room in a spacious bright, sun flooded apartment with a beautiful sea view πβοΈ π Each room is equipped with a desk, a large wardrobe, a shelf (and a new monitor upon request). π‘ Itβs a bright, high-end, quiet flat which is perfect if you like to be around amazing, positive people from day 1 - but also value your work/me-time and focus during the week. You can easily go on sporty activities before and after work (itβs very close to a sport centre/running paths; a padel field & Levada walk are right in front, plus the flat offers lots of space for yoga and workouts). π€ΎββοΈπ§ββοΈ The place is also perfect if you like to wind down on the couch after a busy day watching your favourite series, playing one of our board games with your flatmates or reading one of our interesting (mostly non-fictional) books. π«π β Supermarkets (+ shopping centre), restaurants, cafΓ©s, bars, massage/spa places, farmacies, (etc.) and a sea-view free coworking space are only a short walk away. πΊ You can reach Funchal old town in 11 min by car/scooter (or by a direct bus connection right in front of the house), some beautiful beaches/viewpoints are just 5 min away. π π€πΌ The flat is shared with 2-3 social, friendly & active nomads/travelers who like to go on activities, hikes and events together (often also in big groups with the other Colivings I manage) ποΈπ π§ββοΈ π₯ πββοΈππ»ββοΈπ£ββοΈπ€Ώπ₯³π§ββοΈ ποΈ π There is an option to share vehicles with the other Colivers (we also have low cost scooters for rent) βοΈ This will be your base for the magical stay. π‘ You will be staying in a very large, modern, cosy room in a spacious bright, sun flooded apartment with a beautiful sea view πβοΈ Two Large Rooms will be available soon: βοΈ Premier Suite (with en-suite bathroom) from 20 February βοΈ Cosy Suite (large bathroom right next to it) from 29 February π Each room is equipped with a desk, a large wardrobe (and a new monitor upon request). π‘ Itβs a bright, high-end, quiet flat which is perfect if you like to be around amazing, positive people from day 1 - but also value your work/me-time and focus during the week. Trip ideas and locations will be provided, and we team up with the other Colivings for regular meet-ups and hikes. There will be no physical trip leader present all the time to lead the trips shown here, though. Ponta do Sol
Day 31
You'βll start by exploring the charming town of Ponta do Sol. You can take a leisurely stroll along the promenade, admiring the stunning views of the sea and the quaint houses that line the streets. ππ After a walk, you can stop for a bite to eat at one of the local cafΓ©s or restaurants. There you can enjoy traditional Madeiran cuisine and relax over a glass of local wine. π·π΄ Next, you canl head to the βEstalagemβ hotel, where you can enjoy drinks and watch the sunset from the hotelβs stunning terrace. This will be the perfect spot to unwind and take in the beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. π
πΉ After enjoying some drinks and the sunset, you can stay at the hotel and attend the Purple Fridays party, which is held there every week. The party is known for featuring top DJs and providing an energetic atmosphere that is perfect for dancing, meeting new like-minded people and having a good time. πΆπ

Fanal Forestry Station
Day 31
A day trip to π³ Fanal Forest, π Porto Moniz, and ποΈ Sao Vicente in Madeira Island promises an exciting adventure amidst stunning natural beauty. Starting in Fanal Forest, youβll wander through a mystical woodland of ancient laurel trees π«οΈ, surrounded by a sea of mist and breathtaking views. Next, you can head to Porto Moniz, a seaside town famous for its natural swimming pools π and volcanic rock formations π that make for a perfect photo-op. After a refreshing dip, you drive along the scenic coastal road to Sao Vicente, a charming village nestled in a lush green valley. Here, one can explore the famous Volcanism Center π, an interactive museum dedicated to the volcanic history of Madeira. You can take a break and refuel by indulging in some local cuisine at a nice restaurant. There are several great options to choose from, offering delicious seafood and traditional Madeiran dishes. π½οΈ Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the awe-inspiring scenery, including stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean π, breathtaking waterfalls and towering mountain peaks ποΈ. This day trip promises an unforgettable adventure through some of Madeiraβs most spectacular natural wonders. π€©

PaΓΊl do Mar Sunset
Day 31
This trip starts by driving to Cabo GirΓ£o, a popular spot known for its stunning cliff views over the Atlantic Ocean. Here, we one walk on the famous skywalk platform that extends out over the cliff, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline. ππ
After enjoying the views, you can embark on a hike through the nearby forest. The trail winds through lush vegetation, including eucalyptus and pine trees, and offers stunning views of the coastline from different angles. π³π Next, you will head to the westernmost point of Madeira Island, Ponta do Pargo. Here, one can visit the lighthouse and enjoy the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline. The group can also take a short walk to the nearby viewpoint, Miradouro da Pedra Vermelha, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and the sea. πΊοΈπ Finally, the trip will be ending by visiting the stunning surfer village Paul do Mar, with a beautiful black sand beach surrounded by towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters. One can explore the nearby village and soak in the laid-back atmosphere of this charming corner of Madeira Island. And to top it off, you will be able to enjoy watching the beautiful sunset over the ocean before heading to a local restaurant for dinner, savoring delicious Madeiran cuisine and local wine. π·π΄π

Boca da Encumeada
Day 31
The Co-living members start the hike at Encumeada Pass, located in the mountains between Ribeira Brava and SΓ£o Vicente. From there, you will embark on a scenic hike through the surrounding valleys and mountains, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. ποΈποΈ As you hike, you follow narrow natural paths, winding through lush vegetation and over small streams, taking in the fresh mountain air and the sounds of the forest. Along the way, you will pass several waterfalls, where we can stop to take photos and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. π¦πΈ As you continue along the trail, you walk beside levadas, the famous irrigation channels that are a hallmark of Madeira Island. These channels have been used for centuries to transport water from the mountains to the lower regions of the island, and walking beside them is a unique experience that allows you to appreciate the islandβs history and natural resources. π³π§ You will also pass by several viewpoints that offer breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains, providing ample opportunity to stop and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. π Overall, this day hike promises to be a fantastic adventure, with stunning scenery, narrow natural paths, levadas, and waterfalls to discover. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, and wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing suitable for hiking in the mountains. π₯Ύπ

Penha de Γguia
Day 31
The group will start this hike at Penha de Aguia, a towering peak located in the northeastern part of Madeira Island. As you begin your ascent, you will be treated to magnificent views of the surrounding coastline and mountains, with the shimmering Atlantic Ocean in the distance. ποΈπ The hike to the summit of Penha de Aguia is a moderate climb, with well-marked paths. As you climb higher, the scenery of the surrounding landscape becomes more and more impressive, with verdant vegetation, rugged cliffs, and cascading waterfalls to admire. ποΈπ¦ At the summit of Penha de Aguia, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area, with the whole of Madeira Island laid out before you. From here, you can take a moment to appreciate the stunning scenery before descending back down the mountain. π As the group takes a different path to descend, you can explore the surrounding countryside, with impressive views of the nearby villages and the Atlantic Ocean in the distance. The entire hike will take a few hours, depending on your pace and how often one stops to take in the scenery. π₯Ύβ³ Overall, this hike promises to be a fantastic adventure, with magnificent views, moderate climbing, and plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Madeira Island. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and a light jacket or sweater, as temperatures can get cooler at higher altitudes. ππββοΈπββοΈπΏ

Boaventura
Day 31
The hiking group starts the journey at the Boca das Voltas Viewpoint, located on the northern side of Madeira. From this stunning vantage point, you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding hillsides, with verdant vegetation and rugged terrain stretching out as far as the eye can see. πΊ Next, one can head to the Vigia Viewpoint, which is situated high above the town of Boaventura. This spot offers breathtaking views of the sea, with the rugged coastline stretching out into the distance. π
π From there, the nomads willmmake their way to the charming village of Ponta do Clerigo, where you can wander through the narrow streets and take in the traditional Madeiran architecture. You can also explore the nearby countryside, with its rolling hills and verdant forests. πΏποΈ There are some hidden waterfalls to explore and the possibility to walk a lovely levada if you feel like it. As the sun starts to set, the group will make their way back to Funchal and enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the local restaurants on the way. This is the perfect way to end our adventure and take in the local cuisine. π½οΈπ

Pico do Arieiro
Day 31
You will start your after-work journey in the late afternoon, making your way up to Pico do Arieiro, the third highest peak in Madeira. As you ascend, you can take in breathtaking views of the islandβs rugged terrain and coastline. π
ποΈ Once the Coliving members reach the summit, you all have a chance to witness the sun setting over the Atlantic Ocean, with the sky painted in hues of orange, pink, and purple. Itβs a truly unforgettable experience, and a perfect way to unwind after a long day at work. ππ After taking in the stunning views, you will make your way back down the mountain and head home. This is the perfect way to end an evening adventure and take in the natural beauty of Madeira. β¨
