Bridge days in 2021 – January to April
Right at the beginning, the year 2021 offers really good opportunities to use the bridge days in 2021. In this first part, we’ll look at all holidays from January to April, which you can use either as bridge days or extended weekends.
New Year – 01.01.2021
New Year is not so far away. And you don’t even have to get a vacation day for this – yay! The 01.01.2021 is one of the bridge days in 2021 that falls on a Friday. So you have another really nice long weekend after the Christmas season. This is not only great so you can start the year in a relaxed manner, but also gives you the chance to find enough time to make your New Year’s resolutions. Our resolution is: MORE TRAVEL. Epiphany – 06.01.2021
If you live in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bavaria or Saxony-Anhalt, your year 2021 will start out great! Not only does New Year’s Day belong to the list of bridge days in 2021, but also Epiphany on January 6, 2021 is perfectly located. For example, if you take the 04.01. and 05.01. off, you have 6 days of vacation! If you need a time-out on 07.01. and 08.01. you get 5 days off and with 4 days off on 04.01., 05.01., 07.01. and 08.01. you even get 10 days off! And we also know where you should definitely spend these 10 days: in the Caribbean. Our TripLeader Michael has planned a sailing trip in the Caribbean for you, all you have to do is join.
International Women’s Day – 08.03.2021
Unfortunately, International Women’s Day is only celebrated in Berlin with a day off, but we would like to show all of you who live in Berlin how you can use this day. In 2021, International Women’s Day falls on a Monday, which means you will have a really long weekend! You can either take the Friday before or the Tuesday after to spend 4 wonderful days. So you don’t have a bridge day, but a nice weekend to celebrate yourself or the women in your life.
Bridge days in 2021 – May to August
Summer is known to be the season with the fewest holidays. This is also true for the bridge days in 2021, but there are two ways to make the most of the sunny season!
Ascension Day – 13.05.2021
We have been heard – Ascension falls on a Thursday in 2021! That means, with only one day of vacation you have 4 days off. The possibilities for a short trip seem endless and so it is. Corpus Christi – 03.06.2021
Corpus Christi is once again one of the bridge days in 2021, which is not a holiday in all of Germany. Only people in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland have a day off on this day. Therefore this bridge day, by the way, a Thursday, is addressed to you who live there. Just like on Ascension Day, you can relax for 4 days wherever you want. Away from your work and stress, you can experience the world. In June it is of course already beautiful in our country! How should we finish the year 2021? With two long weekends and a perfectly located bridge day!
World Children’s Day – 20.09.2021
The World Children’s Day is one of the days on our list of bridge days in 2021, which will also be celebrated in only one federal state, Thuringia. The 20.09.2021 is a Monday, so you can start the week really relaxed and escape the Sunday blues. Or you can do something about it! Either stay in Thuringia or explore the rest of the country. If all goes well (with regard to the Corona Pandemic), you might still have the chance to celebrate Oktoberfest!
All Saints’ Day – 01.11.2021
All Saints’ Day also falls on a Monday and heralds the beginning of the dark season. You have never heard of All Saints’ Day or had a day off on November 1st? Then you probably don’t live in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate or Saarland (we are slowly discovering a pattern)! You should either spend the long weekend cuddled up at home or you could look for a nice destination for a short trip – you will surely find it in our list of best places to go in spring 2021.
Day of Prayer and Repentance – 17.11.2021
The Day of Prayer and Repentance is unfortunately only to be found in one federal state; Saxony. But this bridge day has it all. The Day of Prayer and Repentance falls on a Wednesday in 2021. That means, with only two days of vacation you could have 5 days off! Or if you even have 4 vacation days left, your colleagues would only see you again after 8 days. So what can you experience during these 8 days? November can be very dreary, but with the right activity this time before Christmas will be a real gift to yourself.
