Guided trip
🇰🇷 South Korea is an extraordinary country filled with beautiful beaches, thriving cities, ancient temples, remarkable natural scenery and most importantly, friendly people. South Korea has come a long way since The Korean War ended. Home to 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites that include temples, palaces and fortresses - come & learn about this fascinating country with me! *please note - due to the type of trip this is, and the big distances in South Korea to cover between sights, there will be a higher amount of walking. *We are looking for 1 more male to join the group!* I am looking for fun, open-minded TripMates who enjoy good conversation, a mixture of activities & trying new things to join me on an EPIC adventure experiencing this magical country 🤩🤗 👋🏽 I am 31, British 🇬🇧 & have been traveling solo for over 15 years across 70 countries! I used to organise volunteering group trips in International schools globally but more recently I switched to now work in the luxury travel sector assisting families with their person & business related travels. I live, sleep, east and breathe travel and I am excited to share my passion with you! You can read more about me & my sustainability focused travels on my profile 🥰 INCLUSIONS: ➡️ Logistics & booking responsibility taken care of by myself ➡️ Cheaper trip costs overall - my price is based on discounted activities/accommodations due to my connections in the industry ➡️ Accommodation in shared rooms, only within our group. Where I can I will separate genders & keep numbers in rooms to a minimum (Privates can sometimes be arranged at an extra cost if there is availability in the same accomadation) ➡️ Activities & tours mentioned in the itinerary ➡️ All transport between each destination on ground & for activities mentioned in the itinerary ➡️ Experienced, fun & knowledgeable trip leader! ➡️ Pre-departure guidance including help with flight timings, what to pack etc ➡️ Destination specific WhatsApp group for general travel questions & to meet your team before arriving ➡️ Travel insurance if you are a resident of Germany or Austria ➡️ Breakfast on some accommodations EXCLUSIONS: ➡️ F&B: Breakfast on some occasions/Lunch/Dinner & drinks ➡️ Spending money for souvenirs ➡️ Additional activities/sightseeing you would like to take part in that is not mentioned in the itinerary ➡️ Additional transport outside of what is mentioned in the itinerary 🗺 ITINERARY & GROUP SIZE: I will always try to stick to the itinerary provided as much as possible, however, please be aware it is subject to change depending on numerous factors that comes alongside traveling abroad. There are often variables that can affect the itinerary plans such as weather, traffic delays or local changes on ground. Our group will consist of maximum 10 of us (including myself). The nice thing about JMT is it’s for independent travelers so if you want to take a day to yourself or have some ‘you time’ you don’t need to feel restricted to stay with the group like you would need to do on a more structured corporate group trip! 📍 MEETING POINT: You will need to arrive into ICN: Incheon International Airport & make your own way to the first nights accommodation. You can arrive anytime but please be aware if you arrive before 14:00 (South korean local time) you may need to store your luggage with reception until check in is available. The earlier in the day you arrive, the more time you have to explore the area and get settled before we all meet for the first time face to face in the evening for dinner 📝 VISAS: Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival for South Korea. Please check BEFORE booking that you are eligible for a visa & you have a valid passport – these essentials are down to yourself to check & ensure validity. You will also need to check if South Korea has any alternative entry requirement forms or documents you need on arrival to be able to enter the country. ❤️‍🩹 INSURANCE: Travel insurance is included if you are a resident of Germany or Austria. You can view all the inclusions & exclusions of this insurance here: For any other TripMates, you will need to purchase your own Travel Insurance, which also covers you for Medical expenses should you need it whilst we are away. 📱WHATSAPP GROUP: I will be making a ‘South Korea’ specific group WhatsApp before we depart for us to start these conversations where I can answer any questions you may have about the trip.

I have really enjoyed our trip, the things we saw and experienced as well as just hanging out with the amazing group. 🙌🏻😊 It for sure is difficult to plan a trip in Saudi, such a rapidly changing country with only little tourist infrastructure in place, therefore kudos to Jemima for planing such a great road trip. There were only some small things, like a car that was slightly to small for 6 people and luggage or differences in what the trip discription said and were not included. The travel route, accommodations, locations and sights were all really good and contained some things that I wouldn’t have thought of myself. I have seen everything I wished for, with Edge of the World and Hegra being my highlights. Jemima is a wonderful easygoing person and great travel companion. So I can definitly recommand traveling with her. Looking forward to maybe go on another trip with her and the group in the future. 🌍

Trip Itinerary

Day 1-4
Day 1: Arrive in Seoul (make your own way to the accommodation - assistance with booking transfers from the airport can be provided or you can take public transport. Check in starts at 14:00 so if you arrive before this time you can leave your luggage with reception before heading out to enjoy free time discovering all things Kpop in this beautiful city. In the evening we will all meet for the very first time & head for our first taste of Korean cuisine together! Day 2: Explore Seoul - today will be a busy & long day of sightseeing. Hike to Namsan Tower before the heat kicks in. After we will try to visit as many of the following places as possible (if you have preferences feel free to go off and prioritize the ones that interest you the most): The War Memorial of Korea Museum, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namdaemun Market, Gangnam, Traditional Hanok Village. We will also see the Nanta show in Myeong-dong where burlesque characters perform funny events in wacky kitchens and acrobatics in the evening - the first silent show in Korea. Day 3: Todays DMZ & JSA tour takes us to the border between North & South Korea. Learn about not only the history between the two nations that used to be just one but also have the chance to ask about the current situation

Day 4-6
Day 4: Catch the train to Sokcho. Sokcho is a big summer beach and seafood destination. The streets are lined with crab tanks and stands BBQing Mackerel. Enjoy a beautiful sunset over the coastline. Day 5: Seoraksan National Park: hike to Biryong Falls, visit Sinheungsa temple with the giant bronzed Buddah & ride the cable car over the rising mountains before heading back to Sokcho.

Beopjusa Templestay

Day 6-7
Day 6: Take the bus to Beopjusa a member of the 'Korean temple stay program', an initiative that intends to teach international travels about Korean Buddhist traditions. You do not have to be religious to participate. For 1 day & 1 night we will stay in the temple and shadow the monks that inhabit it. It'll give you a magical glimpse into monastic life. Day 7: After a night in a private wooden cabin you'll wake up to the beautiful scenery and begin the journey to the next stage of our trip.

Day 8: Foodie HEAVEN - Jeonju is Koreas UNESCO-protected city of gastronomy. Visit the Nambu night markets as well as the incredibly well preserved Hanok Maeul, an ancient village once occupied by Korean nobles. Day 9: Today we will be dressing like locals in the Korean Hanbok (traditional dress) to explore dressed as a royal. Explore the murals, 360 degree views of the city from the Omokdae shrine & the Gyeonggijeon Shrine with its bamboo forest. In between all this we will need to visit a Makgeolli house to try local makgeolli (Korean rice wine).

Day 9-11
Day 10 & 11: Step back in time 2000 years when you visit this city. It's been extremely well preserved with minimal impact from the war and it has so many historical spots dotted around that it's been accurately nicknamed 'the museum with no walls'. Explore Donggung palace & the royal tombs as well as do the hike from Bulguksa to Seokgurum grotto home to a towering granite Buddha statue. Additionally you have the option to visit the tearooms of Gyochon Village & rent a bicycle to cycle through the countryside to the hidden shrines and temples in your free time.
