Details about this trip
If you’re looking for a very special way to spend New Year’s you just found the right trip! This trip is perfect for all adventurous people, it’s definitely not a typical holiday. We will all meet in Aqaba from where we will start our trip. Its possible to do many activities there and it will be a lot of fun for sure! We will explore the famous city of Petra and spend one night there. Our hightlight will be a night in the desert at a bedouin camp within Wadi Rum. From Aqaba we will drive to Amman and explore the city together. If we have enough time we will also visit Jerash. We will travel in off season which will make this trip very unique as there won’t be that many tourists. About me: I’m Kathi, 25 years old and from Vienna. I already organized many JoinMyTrip group trips and it was always a lot of fun! You can find all my trips when you click on my profile. To join this trip you will have to buy a Jordan Pass for ~95€ (for your visa and entrance to Petra). The price includes accommodation (shared rooms, mid-range hotels or typical jordan accommodations), one night in the desert, transportation from/to the places we visit and TripLeader fee. You will also get a packing list for your trip. For more info read the decriptions below and text me. See you soon! :)

Akaba

Day 1-3
Our starting point will be Aqaba - where the weather is perfect all year round. Aqaba sits on the northeastern tip of the Red Sea and is surrounded by mountains and desert. It has the ideal combination of city-life, beaches and history. Stroll through old town Aqaba’s colourful souqs (markets), visit the mosque, beach and much more!

Wadi Musa

Day 3-4
No trip to Jordan is complete without a stop in Petra. Petra is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most-visited tourist attraction and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. A unique city sculpted on the rocks by the Nebauteus, the Arabic people who once lived in the Jordan deserts around Petra, a place that became a very important mark of the Silk route.

Wadi Rum

Day 4-5
At Wadi Rum you will get a unique insight into the Bedouin lifestyle. While Petra is all about how humans left their footsteps and their remains carved into nature, Wadi Rum is how human civilizations live in accordance with nature. They simply blend in seamlessly. The red desert makes you feel lost in space and sometimes you don’t see anybody for several kilometers.

Amman

Day 5-7
From Aqaba we will drive to Amman and visit the city together. Amman is the capital and the largest city of Jordan. Most likely this is also where we will spend our New Year’s as there are many bars to celebrate. We will visit the top sightseeing spots as well as some local restaurants and try the traditional cuisine.

Gerasa

Day 7
If we have enough time we will also visit Jerash. It’s a fascinating ancient Roman city that is located just 50 km from Amman on the north or Jordan. Our trip ends in Amman, you can fly home from there or take a bus (or flight) back to Aqaba and fly back the next day.
