Let me tell you about the trip! Dudh Kunda Lake is one of the best kept secrets of the Lower Everest Region. It is one of the few places where you can get right to the base of a mountain within couple of days and come back with amazing pictures of high-altitude lake. This trek will offer you breathtaking views of the eastern Himalayan Range, and world highest Mount Everest (8848.86 mtr). If you like the solitary hike this unique trek is best for you as there will be very few people on the trail besides your trip mates. You will be able to experience the famous Sherpa culture and their warm hospitality of Eastern Nepal. Well this trek takes us 6 days to complete from Kathmandu. Dudh Kunda Trekking route will take you through the classical trekking routes of Mount Everest Base Camp, passing through the river valleys, slender ridges, and lusty hills to the mountains which looks quite close.

About me! Hi, fellow Trip Mates! This is me Krishna P from Kathmandu and would like to guide you people in one of the scared white water lake in Nepal under lap of Himalayas. Mountains have been fascinating me since my childhood. Growing up in the foothills of the Himalayas, I have travelled & explored more than 500 miles of different trekking/hiking trails throughout Nepal on foot. I too have a decade long experience in leading, managing & arranging trekking/hiking and other leisure activities here in Nepal.

Details about the accommodation: Our accommodations and stay shall be on mountain lodges and tea houses on a shared basis or private. 3 courses of meals will be provided daily during the trek. During the trek in one stop over, the homestay has only basic amenities. You can experience remote wilderness of mountainous terrain. Trip Itinerary

Kathmandu

Day 1-2
Day 1 (Kathmandu, Altitude: 1320 mtrs) You will arrive Kathmandu City via Tribhuvan International Airport from your home country. After arrival to Kathmandu, we shall pick you up and arrange your accommodation accordingly. Later in the evening, we will have a welcome session with drinks to know each other & fellow trip mates. Background of Kathmandu : Kathmandu city is considered the gateway to the Nepal Himalayas and is home to several World Heritage Sites: the Durbar Square, Swayambhu Mahachaitya, Bouddha and Pashupatinath. Kathmandu city is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world, founded in the 2nd century AD. The valley was historically called the "Nepal Mandala" and has been the home of the Newar people, a cosmopolitan urban civilization in the Himalayan foothills.

Phaphlu

Day 2-3
Day 2 (Kathmandu-Phaplu) Altitude-2400 mtr Today we will drive around 8-9 hours in a private vehicle or local bus to Phaplu village. Phaplu is a gateway village in the lower Solukhumbu, serving as the starting off point for a number of treks around Everest Region. The distance from Kathmandu to Phaplu is around 270 km, though it takes around 8 hours in local vehicle or private. The old Sherpa village has one STOL domestic airport with a runway of 680 meter/ 2,231 feet long. The average altitude of this village stands at 2400 meter above sea level. The road conditions between Kathmandu and Phaplu has been improvised in recent years. The actual distance isn't that far but the average speed in the mountains and foothills in Nepal is around 30-40 km/hr.

Takasindu

Day 3-4
Day 3 (Phaplu-Takasindu) Altitude-3130 mtr Today is the first day of trek and we will be walking around 15 km to Reach Takasindu through Ringmu village .We will hike through the rhododendron forests and pleasant green meadows to reach Ringmu with Mount Numbur in background. After a short steep hike we shall reach Takasindu. Takasindu a small village located in lower northern part of Sol Khumbu district which lies at an altitude of 2130 meter above sea level. There are several ethnic groups residing in the area, among them Sherpa, Rai, and Tamang. The ward is multilingual as the residents speak Sherpa, Rai, Tamang and Nepali languages. Takasindu village is also famous for home to the veteran climbing Sherpas of Nepal.

Dudhkunda Last Camp

Day 4-5
Day 4 (Takasindu-Sharsbeni) Altitude- 4020 mtr Today we have to hike around 13 km from Takasindu to reach Sahars Beni in a mountain homestay. The hike is a little steep hard climb followed by easy trail through meadows and mountain rock terrain. Overnight and have proper acclimatization by roaming near Solu river and overnight in a homestay.

Takasindu

Day 5-6
Day 5 ( Sharasbeni-Dudhkunda-Kamodanda) Altitude 3800 mtrs. Early morning, we will trek around 3 hours to reach the sacred white water lake Dudh Kund situated at an altitude of 4640 mtr above sea level. See the glorious Mt. Numbur (6,959m) and Mt. Karyalung (6,681m) and other mountains behind the lake. We will have lunch at Sharsbeni and if everyone feels like descending down than we will descend Kamodanda village and overnight or stay at Sharsbenie.

Ringmu School

Day 6-7
Day 6 (Kamodanda-Sarkaripati-Rngmu) Altitude-2700 mtr. Today is the last day of trek, we will hike down to Ringmu village after sightseeing Mount Everest from Kamodanda view point or in case if we stay in Saharsbeni than we have to descend down like 13 km . Breakfast will be arranged at Kamodada followed by lunch at Takasindu. We will slowly descend down to Ringmu village and overnight in a hotel.

Kathmandu

Day 7-8
We will wake up early have breakfast at Ringmu village and descend back to Salleri bazar on a local private vehicle. After reaching Salleri bazar, we will catch our private vehicle or a local bus back to Kathmandu. The highway towards Kathmandu will continue via Dudhkoshi & Sunkoshi valley. Reaching Kathmandu one of our associate will make arrangements for your final departure to your home country.The same evening we will have a farewell dinner with memories left behind.
