Details about this trip
Embark on this exciting adventure exploring the magical meeting point of East and West: Istanbul! We will spend 3 full days visiting the heart of ancient Constantinople, the Bazaars and the modern European side of the city, we will take a cruise on the Bosphorus and get to explore the Asian side. We will taste the Baklava and other Turkish cuisine specialties and we will enjoy the vibrant Taksim area and nightlife that this beautiful city has to offer.

I am Mara, an artist and trip organiser based in London who loves traveling, exploring new places and meeting new friends around the world. I would like to share this adventure with like-minded people who are friendly, genuine, supportive and respectful in the group. All my trips are a good balance between enjoyable walks around the city to discover secret corners and relaxed breaks in a coffee shop, cool restaurant with a nice view or rooftop bars to just chill and enjoy life. So if you would like to spend a weekend to walk around, try the local cuisine and enjoy the nightlife of the city in good company this trip is for you.

The accommodation will be a shared room with private bathroom and breakfast included. The hotel or apartment will be in the city centre close to the main landmarks with supermarkets and cafes nearby, well connected with public transport. Private single room option available on request upon payment of an extra fee.

Bosphorus City

Day 2-3
This day will combine Istanbul's vibrant bazaars with a scenic cruise and the more modern "new" city of the European side. We start at the fragrant Spice Bazaar (Misir Carsisi) to browse stalls of spices, teas, and Turkish delights. We will then walk or take a tram to the nearby Grand Bazaar, one of the world's largest and oldest covered markets. We will also take a Bosphorus Strait boat tour from the Eminönü pier. This is a must-do to see the city's skyline, palaces, and bridges connecting two continents from the water. We will cross the Galata Bridge to the Karaköy district and walk up to the historic Galata Tower for panoramic city views. We will end our day in in Taksim Square enjoying dinner and the vibrant nightlife in the Beyoğlu area.

Anatolian Side

Day 3-4
We will explore the distinct culture of the Asian side on our last day of the trip. We will take a short ferry ride to Üsküdar and explore local markets and waterfront mosques. Then we will head to the vibrant Kadıköy neighborhood via the Marmaray subway or a short ferry. We will explore its lively food markets, cafes, and art galleries, and take a relaxed walk along the Moda seaside promenade. After three busy days, I will propose an optional little treat to enjoy a rejuvenating Turkish bath experience at a historic hammam like Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamamı or Çukurcuma Hamamı to relax before departure. We will have goodbye drinks and enjoy the last night together at a rooftop bar before leaving the day after.
