It was a pleasure to take part in a trip led by Kathi's. Her planning and organization made the entire trip run smoothly. The itinerary choices were well thought out and offered a variety of interesting locations. Kathi always went out of her way to ensure that the needs of all participants were met. Þingvellir National Park
Day 2-3
With the rental car we will go to the "Golden Circle" - we will visit Thingvellir National Park, Gulfoss Waterfall and Strokkur Geysir, which we will watch erupting. If the weather is good we will go swimming in a hot spring after sunset.

Solheimasandur Plane Wreck
Day 3-4
Our next stop is the beach of Solheimasandur, here is the wreckage of the US Navy plane that made an emergency landing in 1973. If we have enough time we will also visit the Skodar Museum.

Diamond Beach
Day 4-5
We continue to Svinafellsjokull glacier and Jökulsarlon - one of the largest and most famous glacial lakes in Iceland. We will also visit one of the most extraordinary beaches in the world! "Diamond Beach is a pitch black beach with crystal clear ice chunks, which are washed up by the waves.

Day 5-6
Weather permitting we will take a short hike to Svartifoss waterfall.

Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon
Day 6-7
On this day we visit a canyon as well as the Eldhraun Lava Fields

Reykjavík
Day 7-8
We drive back to Reykjavik by car, departure the next day.
