What's special?
special Christmas dinner
special Possibility to see the Northern Lights
special Secret Lagoon and other attractions
There are two main things that people think about when they think about the island of Iceland. These are the northern lights in The Blue Lagoon. It could be possible to see the Northern Lights once we are out of the city. But did you know that there are other lagoons besides the Blue Lagoon that are less touristy and more affordable? The Secret Lagoon is just one of them. We will go there for a more local experience. On Christmas day, we will have a Christmas party. It is encouraged to cook food from your country, such as your favorite dish. But of course, we will be limited to what is on the island, unless you bring it yourself in your baggage.

About me: My name is Jay and Iceland has been on my bucket list for several years now. I am not afraid of the cold, so I might as well do it when I'm still young. I am also curious about the wellness side of Iceland, since it is known for minerals and facial and body creams. I am recovering Farm corporate America as I slow travel. I am most comfortable in Europe and the Balkans, but I wouldn't mind taking other trips too.

Accommodation: We will rent an apartment, so we can have more freedom to cook. Especially when we have our Christmas dinner! Iceland is generally quite expensive, so we will likely cook most of our meals. We will aim to have 1 person per room, but there could be a possibility of 2 people per room depending on the apartment. Let's discover Iceland together for a new adventure!

Trip Itinerary
1

Reykjavík

Day 1-3
On day one, we will fly into the airport and take a shuttle bus to our hostel. We will warm up with a welcome meal, as we get to know each other better. We will spend the remainder of day one and also day two exploring Reykevik. Sights will include but not limited to: - Hallgrímskirkja Church, most famous church in Iceland - A Harbor walk where we will also see the Lighthouse and if we are able to maybe we can see Northern Lights from here - Olympic size thermal pool, which is the most famous and Reykjavik - National Museum of Iceland
2

Vik

Day 3-4
We will take a bus to this small town of Vik. Vik is known for its black sand beaches, but it has a main one and then a hidden one. We will try to do both. There is also a famous church there, and we can try to get a panoramic view. Maybe we can even see the Northern Lights and have some photo ops. We will stay overnight in a hotel with shared rooms.
3

Secret Lagoon Iceland

Day 4-5
We will take a day to explore the Secret Lagoon in another village outside Reykjavik.. Secret Lagoon was constructed in 1891, making it the oldest manmade geothermal lagoon in Iceland. It would be an extra bonus point to see the Northern Lights from here. But there is also a geyser in the lagoon that we will be sure to see.
4

Reykjavík

Day 5-7
We will spend the last three nights in Reykjavík because it will be Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Many things will be closed, but we will be festive in our own way. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, you are welcome to my annual joined my trip Christmas party. (For the record, I do not celebrate Christmas either, but I like an excuse to eat). Hopefully we will be able to cook food from our own country and have an international gathering. But it really depends on what is available in Iceland at the time. But mixing and matching is always fun. We will partways officially on December 27th. But I hope it's only temporary, and I will see you one another trips sometime!
