Get ready for an epic 8-day Hungarian Road Trip! 🇭🇺🚗💨 We are going off the beaten path to explore the wild side of Hungary before diving into the vibrant energy of Budapest! 🌲✨ This trip is the perfect balance of adventure and chill. We will hike through the secret forests of Bükk National Park 🥾🍃, conquer ancient volcanic hills overlooking the massive Lake Balaton 🌋🌊, and experience the absolute magic of the Danube river! ⛴️🌟 After our road trip, we will drop the car and spend our last days exploring Budapest’s stunning architecture, relaxing thermal baths, and experiencing the legendary nightlife! 🎉😎 Join us for an unforgettable mix of nature, history, and pure fun! ✌️🌍

I am an energetic and social traveler who believes the best trips happen when you share the road with great people 🤝. I am a big sports enthusiast and love staying active, whether it is a forest trek or a spontaneous hike up a volcanic hill 🥾🏃‍♂️. One of my favorite ways to end a day of exploring is finding a local spot to try new craft beers -> I am always on the hunt for a great cold pint 🍺. I love searching for the best local specialties 🌱. I am looking for a fun, open-minded crew to share trail stories, and plenty of laughs!

Our accommodations will be a mix of apartments and hostels depending on the needs of each stage of our trip! 🏡🛏️ We will stay in cozy apartments when we need more comfort, space, and a chill place to recharge after our long days in nature. 🛋️✨ On the flip side, we will stay in highly-rated, central hostels when it is time to socialize, meet other international travelers, and easily dive into the city's nightlife! 🎒🍻 Everything is set up to give us the best and most practical base camps for both relaxation and fun! 🌍✌️

Day 1-3
Day 1: Into the Wild East -> We kick off our adventure on Monday morning! We pick up our rental car at Budapest Airport and drive straight East to the historic town of Eger. In the afternoon, we explore the beautiful Szalajka Valley in Bükk National Park, walking among deep forests and discovering peaceful waterfalls. Day 2: Limestone Wonders & National Parks -> A full day dedicated to the stunning Bükk region! We will visit the unique limestone formations of Egerszalók (the Hungarian Pamukkale! 🏔️💧) and hike deeper into the national park trails to discover the wilder side of Hungary.

Lake Balaton

Day 3-5
Day 3: Journey to the Hungarian Sea -> We hit the road heading West towards the massive Lake Balaton! 🚙💦 Once we arrive at the Northern shore, we will explore the Tihany Peninsula, famous for its sweeping lake views, lavender fields, and a beautiful Mediterranean vibe. Day 4: The Volcano Hike -> Get ready for some elevation! We hike up Mount Badacsony, an ancient flat-topped volcano. 🌋🥾 The trails taking us through basalt columns and the breathtaking panoramic views over Lake Balaton make this one of the absolute best hikes in the region.

Budapest

Day 5-8
Day 5: Hello Budapest & Night Cruise -> We leave the lake behind and drive back to Budapest Airport to drop off the car before 10:00 AM. ⏰🛫 We take the direct bus to the city center, check into our accommodation, and start our urban adventure! In the evening, get ready for a magical experience: an included Night Cruise on the Danube River to see the Parliament and bridges fully illuminated! ⛴️✨ Day 6: Buda Hills & History -> We spend the day exploring the classic beauty of the Buda side. 🏰 We will walk up to the Fisherman's Bastion for the most iconic views of the city, check out Matthias Church, and wander around the historic Castle district. In the evening, we head back to Pest to experience the legendary Ruin Pubs! 🪩🎶 (Night 6: Budapest) Day 7: Pure Relaxation & Architecture -> Sunday is our chill day. You have the option to spend a few hours relaxing in the warm, historic waters of one of Budapest's famous Thermal Baths (highly recommended! 🧖‍♀️💦). In the afternoon, we explore Heroes' Square and the surrounding City Park. Day 8: Pest Exploration & Departure -> Our last day! We explore the Pest side, walking to see the majestic Parliament building up close and wandering through the Central Market for some last-minute souvenirs. 🛍️🚶‍♂️ In the late afternoon, we head back to the airport for our Monday evening flight home. ✈️👋
