The Sicily trip was a good experience. Monica is a very friendly and communicative person who created a good mood during the trip. The trip itself was well organized and included relaxing on beautiful beaches as well as various local experiences (making typical Sicilian food, chocolate tasting) and sightseeing.

Trip Itinerary
1

Agrigento

Day 1-4
Our trip will start in Agrigento, where we will have the opportunity to explore the Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses some of the most well-preserved Greek temples in the world, including the Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Juno. We will also take a stroll through Agrigento's historic center and visit the Cathedral of San Gerlando and the Church of Santa Maria dei Greci, and enjoy a traditional Sicilian meal at a local restaurant. About our accommodation (you can check pictures in the stop description): *Shared room (maximum 2 persons in individual beds) and 1 individual room (paying a fee of 50€) The accommodation comes with 3 private bathrooms (1 per each room) and kitchen. All units are air conditioned and include a seating and/or dining area.
2

Modica

Day 4-7
Modica is a magnificent Sicilian Baroque architecture which makes it a UNESCO heritage site, famous for chocolate because a long time ago Spaniards brought chocolate to Modica from the land of the Aztecs in Mesoamerica. Modica still makes its chocolate (no milk, cold produced, grainy texture, unique flavors) in the traditional Aztec manner which is hard to find elsewhere in Europe. We will have the opportunity to live a chocolate tour with tasting, a unique and unforgettable experience!!! Where do we sleep? Literally in a museum! The Avian Houses with the Mùrika Museum, according to the trend of the «return to the origins», is a project aimed at the ethnographic conservation of the old house and the recovery and improvement of the identity of the places. The rooms, with an ancestral appeal, are original spaces of an old medieval fortification directed to museum purposes and an unconventional receptivity. The floors, artifacts and furniture refer to the history of the old county of Modica. *Shared room (maximum 2 persons in individual beds) and individual rooms (paying a fee of 30€)

Ragusa

Day 7
Ragusa, located in the southeastern part of Sicily, is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning Baroque architecture. We will visit: 1. Ragusa Ibla, the historic center of Ragusa. This charming district is filled with picturesque streets, ornate churches, and beautiful palaces, as the Duomo di San Giorgio, a stunning Baroque cathedral with an impressive façade and intricate interior. 2. Giardino Ibleo is a lovely public garden offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding valleys. Take a leisurely stroll through the park, admire the lush greenery, and relax in the serene atmosphere. 3. Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Scale, this unique church is known for its distinctive design. Built into the rocky hillside, the church features a grand staircase leading to its entrance. 4. Ragusa Superiore, the newer part of Ragusa. Here you'll find wider streets and more modern architecture. Take a walk along Corso Italia, the main street, and admire the elegant buildings and local shops. 5. Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista, this grand cathedral showcases a blend of architectural styles and houses valuable artwork and religious relics. The piazza in front of the cathedral offers a lovely spot to relax and soak in the atmosphere. We will stroll around, indulging in the tasty local cuisine. Sicilian food is renowned for its flavors and quality, so be sure to sample some traditional dishes at local trattorias and restaurants.
4

Marzamemi

Day 7
Marzamemi, the prettiest village in southern Sicily! Many visitors that come to Marzamemi come here for one thing: to eat! For a town of its size, Marzamemi has an impressive number of restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from. The heart of Marzamemi is unquestionably its magnificent town square, Piazza Regina Margherita. The charming piazza tugs at your heartstrings the second you lay eyes on it. Bright pink bougainvillea and hanging wall gardens adorn many of the buildings in the square. This small village will steal your heart...and your phone memory!!!
5

Catania

Day 7
Catania may sit in the shadows of the explosive Mount Etna, but it more than holds its own. Its Roman past is shown off at its theatres, while many variants of grape are grown on Etna’s ever-changing hillside microclimates, and there are even beaches aplenty for soaking up the sun. Catania will be our last spot from where we can take the flight back to our routine :-(
