Coworking trip
Hey beautiful people 🌞 My name is Karla. I am originally from Mexico City and I've been based in Berlin for the past 3 years, so what better way to escape the German winter than to get inspired by my beautiful home of magical Mexico. I am a visual artist currently studying my online Masters in Sexology. I love books, scuba diving, exploring nature, and chasing sunsets. I'm definitely a foodie, so do expect to eat the best food in Mexico City, from small taquerias to the most on trend rooftops. I lived in Mexico City for 23 years, and while it has a rough reputation it's one the the most interesting, diverse and extraordinary cities you could ever explore, specially when you have the right guide and insider knowledge. The food, the culture, the colors, the smells, the people… All will leave you amazed and hopefully you'll love this place as much as I do. Mexico City has plenty of activities for when the work day is done, like fun rooftops where you can see the city's splendor, Lucha Libre, markets and even a plaza with mariachis playing every day of the year. On the weekends we will be exploring other parts of Mexico City like its world famous Xochimilco, Frida Kahlo's Museum, el Zócalo and Coyoacán. We will also have time to escape the city busy life to two magical places: Teotihuacan, where we will see ancient pyramids and the Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town) of Tepoztlan. 📍 The apartment is located the heart of Mexico's City downtown area. Close to the iconic Paseo de la Reforma and close to a well connected Metro station. the apartment has: -High speed internet connection -5 private rooms / 2.5 bathrooms with shower -Balcony and big common spaces to work comfortably The trip costs 💸 include an amazing accommodation, tickets to the events that have to be previously booked so: 1. Lucha Libre, 2. Traditional Christmas Posada, 3. Ballet Folclórico, car transportation to and from Tepoztlán and Teotihuacán. What's not included is: groceries, restaurants, transportation to the AirBnb and other areas inside Mexico City, we will be using the metro system as well since our apartment is super well located and gas. We are looking for 3 to 4 like-minded, fun people 💻 to JOIN OUR TRIP. If you have any questions I will be happy to hear from you! I am very excited to share my crazy city with you 💗

Trip Itinerary
1

Wrestling Arena Coliseo

Day 1-3
Yaaass!! Our trip to Mexico City would not be complete without visiting our world famous freestyle wrestling matches, that have been part of Mexican tradition since 1863. Believe me, we will have a blast shooting tequilas and cheering for our favorite luchador.
2

Zócalo

Day 3-4
If there is something that amazes locals and travelers, it's the Historical Center of Mexico City. With the Palacio Nacional or the Metropolitan Cathedral and in the background, the vestiges of the Aztec Empire. Enjoying them is very simple, since they are only separated by a few yards. We can come back around here during our stay since we're walking around during our free afternoons.
3

Plaza Garibaldi

Day 4-5
The Plaza is known as Mexico City's home of mariachi music. At all hours of the day and night, mariachi bands can be found playing or soliciting gigs from visitors to the Plaza. We will have lots of fun and we can finish our visit with tacos around the area.
4

Frida Kahlo Museum

Day 5-6
The museum is located in the heart of coyoacan where we will stroll around to enjoy the shops, markets, restaurants and National Park. La Casa Azul exhibits the life and work of one of Mexico's most famous artists, Frida Kahlo. In this bright-blue intimate universe, former residence of Frida and Diego Rivera, we can take a close look at where the artist was raised and eventually passed away.
5

Xochimilco

Day 6-7
Xochimilco is a place where I have some of my most fond memories. This alternative universe located in the megalopolis is the last remaining water transport system built by the Aztecs. And it is now used to party in the most Mexican style. We will rent a chinampa (kind of like Mexican gondolas), bring our drinks and we will go around the canal. The most exciting part is the journey, because there we will find other chinampas floating around in their folkloric decorations offering mariachi, handmade quesadillas and other delicious specialities, and an amazing time.
6

San Juan Teotihuacán

Day 7-8
This will be our first escape from the city hustle. Teotihuacán was once the largest city in the pre hispanic era, UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most-visited archaeological site in Mexico, at just 1 hora and a half from the City.
7

Ciudadela artesanía y plata

Day 8-9
What a better way to feel inspired than by local artisans. You'll be walking around this colorful market where you can find quality items, and since you will be traveling with a local the shopping experience here can be less of a hassle than at bigger more touristy markets.
8

Mercado de San Juan

Day 9-10
It's the most exotic traditional market in Mexico City. In my opinion it's a great introduction to Mexican food markets, because of its compact size and central location. Who else shops here? Locals, neighbors, chefs, cooks, tourists.
9

Bellas Artes

Day 10-11
We cannot miss this! First of all, the performance will be inside El Palacio de Bellas Artes, the iconic neoclassical and art nouveau style building that houses inmmense murals from Mexico's most famous artists like Tamayo, Rivera and Siqueiros. Like if that wouldn't be enough we will be attending the folkloric ballet, Which brings together in a beautifully colorful interpretation the music, dance and costumes of Mexican folklore from prehispaniv civilizations through modern era.
10

Tepotzotlán

Day 11-12
Mexican Christmas party tradition, these parties take place from the 16 to the 24th of December and many of the original traditions from 500 years ago are still kept. For example, the piñata originated from the re-telling of Jesus’ birth. Nowadays the celebration consists of delicious food, drink, music, sweet filled piñatas, cheerful atmosphere and lots of fun!
11

Tepoztlán

Day 12-14
Tepoztlán has been known for being the place where time holds still, a town filled with magic and ancestral energy. This incredible destination has a beautiful hike in “Cerro del Tepozteco”, a sacred mountain that will take your breath away with it's views and will wow you with the Mexica pyramid on top. After our hike we will continue to take a walk through the city center, an architectural gem.
