This 7-day itinerary is perfect if you're visiting this beautiful island for the first time. Take your time to enjoy the vistas and plan on doing a hike somewhere.
Day 1 - The Northeast

Our first stop is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, almost half of the one million people living in Tenerife live in Santa Cruz, it’s the urban heart of the island. Wander around the city and explore for a while, before heading to Las Teresitas. Relax on this amazing beach, have a cocktail, and enjoy the sun. End your day in San Cristobal de la Laguna. This little town will make you feel like you’re in Cuba and not Spain anymore.
Day 2 - Discover the rainforest Anaga

Start your day in the Parque Natural de Anaga by visiting the visitor center in Barrio Cruz Carmen and finding the perfect hike for you. After you finish your hike, go to Taganana and Benijo. Grab some food here and relax for a minute, afterwards you can drive around, discover the many small villages in the area and enjoy the visas at Las Carboneras.
Day 3 - Holiday feeling in Puerto de la Cruz

Puerto de la Cruz is a small city directly on the beach, where you can just wander around and enjoy some sangria. Visit the La Orotava Botanical Gardens or have some wine at casa del vino de Tenerife. Take this day to travel slowly and enjoy yourself.
Day 4 - History and ancient nature

Visit the historic city center of La Orotava and discover the Casa de los Balcones. You can do a tour here and learn about the history of this place. It’s also a nice spot to take some photos. Afterward, visit the Parque del Drago. You will find one of the Instagram spots here - Drago Siete Fuentes - a tree that’s about 500-600 years old.
Day 5 - Drive through the coast and mountains

On day 5 you will visit the most western point of Tenerife. Go to Punta de Teno to see a first glimpse of Los Gigantes, a massive rock formation. Go to Masca, one of Tenerife’s must-see villages. The drive there can be a little nerve-wracking but the views of Masca valley will make it worth your while. There are also some really nice hikes around the valley and the village.
Day 6 - Enjoy the beach in Los Cristianos

Los Cristianos is one of Tenerife’s party cities. There are quite a few bars and restaurants around town. Enjoy the beach, have a mojito, and eat some tapas. If you want to see more of Los Gigantes you can also head out to Puerto de Santiago, enjoy the view and go for a boat trip to see some whales and dolphins.
Day 7 - El Teide Nationalpark

El Teide is Spain’s highest mountain and at one point or another, you will have seen it while traveling the island. On this last day, you will finally see it up close. Take the cable car up the mountain and enjoy the view. We recommend booking your ticket in advance if you want to take the cable car. For the rest of the day decide on a hike or just enjoy the nature surrounding you.
