How to Get Around Athens?

Public Transportation 

Traveling to Athens is easy and affordable. Public transportation is quite developed and incredibly easy to use in Athens. You can travel around the city thanks to public transportation. You can use the subway, the tram, buses, and trolleys in Athens. You can get a ticket for each fare or you can get a monthly ticket pass to use it on every public transport. A single ticket is around €1,20 and you can use it for 90 minutes on every public transport. The monthly pass is €30. 

Driving 

Driving is not recommended in Athens because it is more expensive and it is not as convenient as public transport. However, you can find many car rental agencies in the city or at the airport. If you have an EU driving license, you won’t need another certificate. If you are coming from another country, you will need an international driving license. The street parking is challenging and it is hard to find a free spot. You can find many private parking lots in Athens where you can safely leave your car. 

Cycling

Cycling is not quite popular in Athens yet, but it has started to become a thing in recent years.

Travel Tips for Remote Working in Athens

1 - Siesta 

Like the other Mediterranean Countries, Greeks also take their time and close their shops at noon. Keep in mind that most of the local shops will be closed from noon until evening. 

2 - Tipping
