Zanzibar is a captivating island destination off the coast of Tanzania, known for its breathtaking beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant culture. A week in Zanzibar will give us enough time to explore the island's beauty and enjoy various activities, such as visiting famous Stone Town, a spice tour and water activities.

Day 1-2
Arrival Day! We will meet at our accommodation in Zanzibar, where we will be staying for the whole period. Please let me know if you need help with airport transfer. We will get to know each other and discuss the plan for the upcoming days. If you arrive early, you can plan some additional activities.

Stone Town

Day 2-3
We will go on a day trip to Zanzibar's Stone Town! Together, we will wander through the maze-like alleys of this UNESCO-listed old town, with its ancient buildings that showcase a blend of Arab, Persian, Indian, and European influences. We will be strolling through markets like Darajani Bazaar and experience the vibrant local life and try some street food and exotic spices.

Jozani Forest

Day 3-4
Today we will be heading to the Jozani Forest! It is a lush and diverse natural reserve, renowned for being the last remaining habitat of the endangered red colobus monkey, making it a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts. Besides the captivating primate encounters, we can also explore the forest's trails and observe various bird species.

Day 4-5
Snorkeling Tour! We will join a half-day snorkeling tour to Mnemba Island. It offers an unforgettable underwater adventure to see coral reefs, encounter diverse marine life, and revel in the crystal-clear waters of this marine conservation area.

Day 5-6
We will go on a Spice tour to see Zanzibar's spice plantations! Guided by local experts, we will get to witness the cultivation and harvesting of a wide array of spices, such as cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla, while learning about their historical significance and culinary uses. We will get an insight into Zanzibar's centuries-old spice trade and its impact on the island's culture and economy.

Day 6-7
We will spend our day relaxing at the hotel or exploring nearby beaches. Zanzibar beaches boast stunning white sands and clear azure waters, making them an idyllic tropical paradise for beach lovers and sun-seekers alike.

Goodbye Zanzibar! This day is only planned for departure. If you leave later in the day, you can leave your luggage at the hotel reception and plan some additional activities. Hopefully we will see each other on another trip :)
