Details about this trip
Do you have a pipe-playing, kilt-wearing Scot in your background? Have you wanted to see the land, taste the food, and uncover traces of your Scottish ancestors? Join me as we search for our Scottish roots, beginning at the National Records of Scotland in Edinburgh, moving on to the Highlands Archive Center in Inverness and finishing at the Scotlands People Center in East Ayreshire. Along the way we'll eat local foods such as haggis, neeps and tatties, cullen skink, Scottish porridge, and of course, Scotch Whisky. We're including a customized talk and tour given by a Scottish genealogy specialist who will research our Scottish surnames in advance. (You'll need to give me a list of the names you wish researched.) We'll travel by rail in between destinations to enjoy the scenery in comfort and style. 💰 Price includes: - Nine (9) nights of accommodation (double occupancy) - Second class train passage throughout trip (First class available for additional fee) - All breakfasts - Entry fees for tours - Entry fees for boat cruises - Entry fees for record center access (Airfare to/from Scotland and airport transfers are not included) Price is based on double occupancy. Single accommodation can be arranged for an additional fee. I believe each person has gifts to offer the global community, no matter their race, religion, culture, or sexuality. Join my trip! About me: My name is Carolyn and I love talking with locals to learn where they eat and where they go in their hometowns.
