Carolyn Bass

People are what makes a culture. I love talking with locals to learn where they eat and where they go in their hometowns. It's no surprise that many of the most authentic places to eat are not on the main roads, and some of the most extraordinary places to visit are not often featured on tourist maps. This was driven home when my family and I lived in Japan for three years. As a passionate traveler, I also write about the locations and people I meet. I’ve had features published in several print and online newspapers, magazines and journals, including my previous hometown newspaper, the Riverside Press-Enterprise.
