Details about this trip
A pilgrimage of women travelling to ancient Egypt for one of the most extraordinary celestial events of our lifetime — the total solar eclipse of 2 August 2027, this is one of the longest land-based periods of totality of the 21st century. Once in a lifetime! This eclipse carries themes of courage, confidence, renewal and stepping into a new chapter. Surrounded by the temples, tombs and ancient wonders of Egypt, we’ll experience a journey that blends the mystery of the ancient world with a powerful sense of possibility and new beginnings. We’ll explore the history and mythology of ancient Egypt, enjoy a private sailing experience on the Nile, visit iconic archaeological sites and have time to relax and connect as a group. The eclipse itself will be the highlight of the journey, giving us the chance to experience this rare event together without rushing through the day.

Hi, I’m Lisa. I’m organising women-only, once-in-a-lifetime adventures — the kind of bucket-list trips you’ve always dreamed about but perhaps never thought you’d actually get to do. By travelling together as a small group, we can share the experience, make new friends and keep the trips friendly and affordable, while still doing something truly unforgettable.

We’ll stay in comfortable Egyptian-style villas and guesthouses selected for their character, location and relaxed atmosphere. The accommodation may feature traditional architecture, courtyards, terraces, rooftop areas and swimming pools, giving the group a welcoming place to relax between activities. Meals will be prepared at the accommodation as specified in the itinerary. Room arrangements and the exact properties will be confirmed closer to the trip, depending on availability and the final group size. This trip is designed to be a special experience shared with a friendly group of women — combining ancient history, Egyptian culture, the beauty of the Nile and the extraordinary experience of witnessing a total solar eclipse together. If you have any questions about the itinerary, accommodation, included activities or anything else about the trip, please feel free to reach out before booking. We’d be happy to help you make sure this adventure is right for you. ❤️❤️❤️

Aswan

Day 1-3
We begin our journey in beautiful Aswan, where we’ll spend two nights enjoying the slower, more traditional side of Egypt. Our group will stay together in a large, rustic guesthouse with a warm, homely atmosphere and our own local host helping us along the way. It’s the kind of place that feels personal and authentic rather than polished and touristy, giving us a chance to settle in, relax and experience a more local side of Aswan. Our first full day will be centred around Isis — one of ancient Egypt’s most powerful goddesses and a symbol of feminine strength, protection, healing, motherhood and magic. For a women’s journey, there’s something especially fitting about beginning with a goddess whose story became one of the most enduring in the ancient world. We’ll visit the breathtaking Philae Temple, one of the great centres of Isis worship, set beautifully on an island in the Nile. Even arriving is part of the experience, with a short boat ride across the water before we explore the temple and hear the stories connected with Isis, as well as the other feminine deities represented there, including Hathor, goddess of love, joy, music and femininity. Afterwards, we’ll head to a beautiful Nubian restaurant overlooking the water and the Philae area for a traditional lunch together. We’ll have everything arranged in advance for the whole group so we can sit together, enjoy the views and take our time. The rest of the day will be kept relaxed, with time to return to our guesthouse, unwind, enjoy the surroundings and soak up the atmosphere of Aswan before the next stage of our journey. We’ll also have private local transport and arrangements organised for the group, allowing us to move around comfortably without relying on large commercial tours.

Luxor

Day 3
Our time in Luxor will centre around the total solar eclipse of 2 August 2027, with our group travelling together to a beautiful viewing location on the West Bank. Rather than joining a large commercial event, we’ll have a more intimate local setup arranged for us, with a traditional Egyptian picnic, refreshments, shade and a spectacular open view while we watch the eclipse unfold over the ancient landscape. After totality, we’ll continue into Luxor for a guided visit to Karnak, including the Precinct of Mut, the great mother goddess of ancient Thebes. Mut was associated with motherhood, protection, queenship and feminine power, making her a perfect continuation of the goddess theme that begins with Isis in Aswan. From there, we’ll head to the Nile for a private sunset dinner cruise, giving us time to relax after the eclipse and watch the light change over Luxor from the water. We’re aiming for something smaller, more intimate and traditional rather than a large commercial cruise, with dinner served onboard and the Nile as the backdrop. At the end of the evening, private transport will take us directly to Luxor Railway Station, where we’ll board the overnight sleeper train to Cairo.

Cairo

Day 3-7
Day 1 – Arrive in Cairo, Poolside Mashawi & an Egyptian Tea Evening After travelling overnight from Luxor on the sleeper train, we’ll arrive in Cairo early in the morning and take our private transfer to our villa in Giza. We’ll settle into the villa, unwind, swim and enjoy a long, relaxed Egyptian mashawi barbecue lunch together — a generous mixed-grill feast of kofta, grilled meats, fresh salads, flatbreads, dips and plenty to share. The afternoon is completely free to relax by the pool, nap, chat or simply enjoy the house. Then in the evening, we’ll settle in for a wonderfully atmospheric traditional Egyptian tea and shisha evening. Think low, relaxed seating, small glasses of sweet black tea and fresh mint tea, karkadeh hibiscus tea, bowls of dates, nuts, seeds, fresh fruit and little Egyptian sweets and pastries to nibble on while we talk and unwind. A local star map astrology practitioner & an Traditional Henna Artist will join us privately at our accommodation, where we’ll enjoy Egyptian tea, receive delicate henna designs and take part in personalised astrology readings focused on the 2027 total solar eclipse — where the eclipse falls in each of our personal charts, what areas of life it may illuminate or shift, and how we can use that insight to feel more empowered and intentional in the years ahead. It’s the perfect first Cairo evening — relaxed, social, traditionally Egyptian and completely connected to the magic of the eclipse. Day 2 – Markets, Camel Safari & Perfume Workshop We’ll start the morning early, before the heat builds, exploring Cairo’s colourful markets and bazaars. There’ll be plenty of time to browse Egyptian jewellery, spices, lanterns, souvenirs and traditional clothing, and everyone will have the opportunity to choose a beautiful piece of traditional Egyptian cotton headwear to take home. From the markets, we’ll head out into the Giza desert for a proper camel safari, spending around one to two hours riding through the desert landscape before stopping for a traditional Egyptian picnic in a beautiful desert setting. Afterwards, we’ll head back to the villa for a relaxed barbecue evening, with plenty of time to unwind by the pool, followed by our private perfume workshop, where we’ll discover the oils and fragrances Egypt has been famous for for thousands of years and create or choose a special scent to take home. Day 4 – Pyramids, Sphinx, Saqqara, Memphis & a Very Special Final Dinner Today is our huge ancient-Egypt day. We’ll set out on a full guided tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, before continuing on to Saqqara and Memphis to explore even more of Egypt’s extraordinary ancient history. Lunch is included during the tour, so we can settle in and enjoy the full day without rushing. Then, after returning to the villa to freshen up, we’ll finish the day with something really special — a dinner overlooking the pyramids, with traditional belly dancers hired especially for our group. It’s the perfect finale to our Cairo adventure: ancient wonders by day, and one unforgettable Egyptian evening beneath the pyramids by night.

Alexandria

Day 7
So the Alexandria part can be described as: Alexandria – Ancient History & a Relaxed Included Meal We’ll spend the day exploring Alexandria’s most interesting historic sights with a local guide, taking in the city’s incredible mix of Greek, Roman and Egyptian history, along with its Mediterranean atmosphere. The tour will include a meal along the way, so we can relax and enjoy the day without having to organise a separate restaurant booking. It keeps Alexandria easy and enjoyable — history, coastal scenery, local stories and a good meal all wrapped into one day. If you want even more adventure, why stop at Egypt? Continue the journey with 10 of us through Morocco and Spain, enjoying more festivities, unforgettable experiences, beautiful places, plenty of laughs — and continuing to discover the goddess within you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙂🙂🙂🙂
