Details about this trip
Update May 17: The trip already has 5 other crew members, who booked privately with me, so they are not shown here. So we have space for a maximum of 1 more trip mates /// We will sail from island to island and bay to bay onboard my yacht that has just completed a sail around the world and is equipped with many nice toys like a SUP and a watermaker that makes life on the sea comfortable and chill. We will do a good mix of swimming around the boat in anchorages, visiting 1-2 island towns and explore there, visiting beach bars and Tavernas and maybe take a scooter to drive around an island. We will pool about 200 Euros per person at the start of the trip for the "crew kitty" to get food and drinks for the week and for marina fees and for re-fueling the boat at the end of the trip. I also offer trips on other dates than the ones you see here / on my JoinMyTrip profile as JMT only allows to offer 2 trips per month. If you are interested to sail on another date just leave a comment. Understand: I own the boat, so there is no "minimum trip mates participation number" as with many other JoinMyTrip trips, as the boat will sail in any case. If less people book you have the advantage of not having to share your cabin (usually with another solo traveler of the same sex), if more people book you have the advantage of more fun company :-) Also: JoinMyTrip is not the only community where I advertise my trips, I also have an already existing followership via Facebook, Instagram etc. who have already booked slots on trips with me, so usually, a trip is already more "full" than it appears here, so: dont hesitate to book simply because it looks "not many people are on board yet", they are :-) Also important: Belows schedule (apart from start and end date and port) is just one possible scenario for the week - we have to and will adjust it according to crew wishes and crew ability and other factors like weather and seamanship.

About Me! I am a 37-year-old German journalist who quit his job to sail around the world. I have also worked as a yacht skipper as a side job for 10+ years. I have also a masters degree in Political Science and Sociology. I am easygoing and uncomplicated as a person.

The boat has 4 double cabins. You share your cabin usually with another crew member of the same sex unless you want it differently. We also have 2 mattresses to sleep on deck and 2 hammocks. We have two bathrooms. In the middle of the boat is the salon with kitchen and big table with sofa area to hang out, cook and eat. Any questions about the trip? You can let me know in the Q&A section!

Kalamata

Day 1-2
Arriving via bus from Athens or via the regional airport of Kalamata, you might want to spend a day or two here to explore this region that is famous for olive growing. We will explore the town of Kalamata a bit in the evening, but first we need to go food-shopping with the whole crew at a local supermarket to provision the boat for the week and according to our taste. In the afternoon, we will get an introduction to the yacht and a safety briefing before ending the day in a taverna.

Methoni

Day 2-3
After a long gentle sailing day with lots of time to sunbathe on deck, we arrive on the southwest corner of the Pelopones and anchor next to this medieval town with its nice beach to enjoy the view over a sundowner drink.

Ithaca

Day 3-4
Sailing north from Zakynthos, we stop in Odysseus island to enjoy one of its many green coves. We anchor in a bay outside town to swim around the boat and maybe also hike up the next hill for a nice view over the bay. In the evening we enjoy the solitude in a quiet bay or maybe do some nighly swimming or skinny dipping from the boat and maybe sleep on deck below the stars.

Zakinthos

Day 4-5
After a longer sailing day south we stop at the island of Zakynthos. Maybe at the famous shipwreck bay, with its massive white cliffs. Maybe we will anchor in one of the bays in the south where the there is a turtle sanctuary. Maybe we will be able to see one or two while swimming around the boat after anchoring.

Lefkada

Day 5-6
On the first day of the trip we first provision the boat for the whole week with a big supermarket run in Levkada town. Then we either go off to anchor out with a view towards the island or stay in town and explore the bars of the old town a bit more.

Antipaxos

Day 6-7
We will stay in one of the charming bays with its azure blue waters that the island of Antipaxos offers. That will mean a lot of time to swim around the boat and to the beach and maybe explore a bit on shore too. In the evening we cook together on the boat after some sundowner drinks and then watch the stars when chilling on deck after dinner.

Old Town of Corfu

Day 7-8
At the end of our trip we will stay in Korfu old town marina. In the evening, we will explore the old town, its bars and tavernas. The view of the old town over the bay is also quite nice. The next day you can take the bus to Korfu airport.
