Your Eco Volta tour will take you to Kakum National Park, the most noted rainforest in West Africa. Experience the spectacular views of the rainforest as you cross the 100 feet high canopy walkway. This walkway is one of only five of its kind in the world. The park is a prime location to view birds such as the African hornbill. In 1993 a butterfly hitherto unknown to the world of science was discovered at the park. As you travel north you will be delighted by a festival of butterflies at Bobiri Butterfly sanctuary, so have your cameras ready to capture this exciting scene. You will also visit Aburi Botanical Gardens in the Akwapim mountains and at Shai Hills, view West Africa’s savannah animals; antelopes, bushbucks, kobs, baboons and monkeys. Aburi Botanical Garden

Day 2-3
ABURI BOTANICAL GARDEN Depart after breakfast for a drive to Aburi Botanical Gardens. This Eco-paradise was created in 1890 for pleasure and scientific research. It is a habitat for plants and butterflies from all around the world. Later, visit the wonderful Woodcarvers’ Village, a great place to pick up that special souvenir from your trip. Afternoon, departure for Ho. Meals: Breakfast and Dinner .

Wli water falls

Day 3-4
FRIENDLY MONKEYS & WLI WATERFALL. Early morning departure for Tafi Atome, a village that has practiced conservation as a culture by keeping their monkeys sacred. You will have the rare and exciting experience of witnessing these endangered animals in large numbers as they live in the wild. Continue on to Wli Waterfalls. Enjoy a hike through lush greenery of the Agumatsa Forest Reserve where you will cross the same river eleven times to reach the breathtaking falls.

Mountain Afadjato

Day 4-5
MOUNT AFADJATO & TAGBO FALLS After an early breakfast at your hotel, depart for a drive to the foot of Afadjato mountain which is approximately 885m above sea level (2905ft). We shall climb to the highest peak in Ghana, without climbing gear. After descending from the peak, enjoy a walk through a secondary rain forest, enjoy a cool and invigorating environment at the base of the Tagbo Falls. Return to Ho for overnight.

Shai-Hills Resource Reserve

Day 5-6
SHAI HILLS RESOURCE RESERVE Check out of your hotel after breakfast and depart for the Shai Hills Reserve, which combines nature, conservation, rich cultural interest and archaeological sites with splendid, scenic beauty. Embark on a trek through the savannah plains to view West Africa’s big game: antelopes, bushbucks, kobs, baboons, monkeys and many bird species including the crested eagle, ground hornbill, blank bellied bustard and more. Visit the Obonu Tem and Se Yo caves that serve as home to many animals, but most notably insectivorous bats. You will have the opportunity to learn about the various artifacts that have been found at the site, which is the homeland of the Krobo people. Continue the journey southward to Accra. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Manhiya Palace Museum

Day 6-7
KUMASI CITY TOUR After breakfast at your hotel, check out and depart for a drive through the forest zone to Kumasi, the seat of the Ashanti Empire to explore the legends of the famous Ashantis, whose legacies are still evident today. Upon arrival, visit Manhyia Palace Museum, to obtain firsthand information on the legacies of the Ashanti kingdom. A regal history that dates back to 1700 is told with relics and artifacts. Enjoy a drive through the city with monuments dedicated to the memory of the great Ashanti people. End the day’s tour at the National Cultural Center which features the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and various studios of the brass makers, potters and batik makers.

Bobiri Butterfly Sanctuary and Arboretum

Day 7-8
BOBIRI BUTTERFLY SANCTUARY After breakfast depart for a visit to the Bobiri Forest Reserve to view the flower gardens designed to attract a variety of butterflies in the forest; enjoy a hike through the semi-deciduous rain forest that shelters it. You will see and learn about the socio-economic and medicinal importance of these tropical trees as you hike through the forest. Later, depart for a drive to Elmina in the Central

Kakum National Park

Day 8-9
KAKUM NATIONAL PARK / CAPE COAST CASTLE After breakfast, depart to explore the historic Denkyira Kingdom, particularly Kakum National Park. Kakum is one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests, spanning over 360sq km and filled with diverse and dense vegetation. A blend of true rainforest and semi-deciduous forest, Kakum is the home to over 40 large mammals, 400 bird species and a breathtaking array of butterflies, flora, and fauna. The most popular attraction in the forest is the canopy walkway which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m and hanging 40m above the forest floor. You will be given the choice to walk the canopy or enjoy a 2km nature walk through the forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer. After lunch, visit the Cape Coast Castle, which was built by the Swedes in 1653 and later taken over by the British. The castle also houses the West African Historical Museum, established by the Smithsonian Institute in collaboration with the Ghanaian Government in 1994. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9-10
ELMINA - ACCRA Check out and depart for a drive along the coast to Accra. Upon arrival, embark on a sightseeing tour of Accra. You will drive through the administrative and economic districts of Accra, Capital of Ghana. This 132-year-old city has a blend of colonial and modern architecture that summarizes her history. You will visit the W. E. B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence/Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Accra
