About me

Hey there! This is Filippo, I'm 21 and I come from Italy. I lived my whole childhood and teenage years there but 2 years ago I decided to change my life and commit myself to something I truly love, travelling and discovering new things everyday. I currently study in the Netherlands, in the amazing city of Amsterdam, where everything can happen. I have loads of passions (maybe too many) such as playing sports and music, I'm extremely social and love to connect with new people around the globe, therefore you surely won't have a hard time finding something to talk about with me. If you are looking for extremely cheap and dangerous adventures into the wild then probably you found your ideal tripmate!

Even though I lived for my whole childhood in a small venetian countryside village, I was so lucky to travel with my family during all my early years. This has sparkled in me an amazing curiosity for new places and new cultures. I played rugby for 10 years, which donated me an insane passion for outdoor and extreme activities, explaining my addiction for hiking, alpinism and every kind of outdoor activity. During my childhood I learned to play the piano and the drums, which I began to play again just two years ago, together with some guitar.

I study Business Administration at the University of Amsterdam, I work part time as a tour guide and also go to the gym. Oh yeah, of course I also play in a band since here in Amsterdam I'm finally finding opportunities literally everywhere to connect with amazing musicians.

My favourite place on earth are and will always be the Dolomites. Having such an astonishing natural park a few hours drive from my hometown in Italy is something I will always be grateful for. Hiking among those rock giants is something that just makes me apprieciate life!

I generally love to learn about new cultures and see new phenomenal places, and of course because I want to know new people. I'm mostly fascinated by nature and outdoor adventures, but of course I love vibing in some thriving city too.

It was a pleasure sharing a trip around Amsterdam and the Netherlands with Filippo. We didn't have the best weather but he was able to pivot and find dry activities when the rain wouldn't let up. His experience living and leading tours in Amsterdam was so beneficial to my understanding of the region and helped me go beyond the usual tourist activities. We did everything we set out to do and he was flexible whenever anyone in our group needed to change plans (i.e. for food, booze, or toilet needs). Whether he was escorting us by foot, car, or boat I felt confident that I was in good hands on Filippo's adventures. He has a youthful enthusiasm that's contagious and his speedy walking ensures that future trips lead by Filippo will cover lots of ground.
