Winter Hiking, Dog Sledding, Italian Alps & Lots of Fun! ❄️

We will meet up at the point of Pick up: Gemona at 08:30 or Villach hbf until approximately 10:40 in the morning. Villach is a city on the Drava River in the Austrian province of Carinthia, near the Italian border. We do a small walk around the city before we head down, passing Austrian - Italian border. We will get to know each other while enjoying the Alps view.

Take a cable car to Monte Lussari: A cute little village on top of the mountain at a peak overlooking the land where the Carnic and Julian Alps come together, from a position of privilege that positions it as the guardian of these borderlands. Here we will do a short easy hike while discovering the village. Level: Easy, no gear needed but proper waterproof hiking shoes are a must!

On the second day, we will hike in Sappada, the Beautiful chain of Alps Mountain. The village of Sappada is a pure mountain resort, on the northern slopes of the Dolomites, which still retains its ancient traditions: from the characteristic wooden houses to the Sappadino dialect which has remained unchanged for centuries. Level: Easy, no gear needed but proper waterproof hiking shoes are a must!

Next day. Dog sledding: we will get initial theoretical driving lesson + the preparation of a sled with adequate number of Dogs + driving a sled by yourself assisted in a distance by our Staff in the school ring for beginners + photo, cuddles, biscuits to the Dogs after arrival. After dog sledding we will do an easy hike in Val Saisera (Saisera Valley), this path offers over 15 km of snow-covered trails, clearly marked and well trodden amongst the woods and the clearings, that you may experience on foot, They are easy paths with no steep slopes. Level: Easy, no gear needed but proper waterproof hiking shoes are a must!

Next day Visit Goriuda waterfall, A flow of icy water from the upper grotto leaps over the valley, then plunges into the crystal-clear pool of water at the base of the cascade, in the steamy atmosphere of a lush beech forest. If we have more time, we can also go to Fusine Lake or Venzone. Trip Finish around 15-16, Please book your train accordingly. Drop off: Villach and Gemona.
