Tamarindo Creative Reset and Surf Escape

I'm a Creative Writing Coach and expert travel planner who has merged my passions into crafting creative experiences for others. I've taken great care in researching and creating this trip to be a memorable experience that gets you creating. You won't need to worry about planning a place to stay, how to get there, or what to do, and you will have plenty of free time to relax. This trip is intended to be a bit less structured with some activities planned and plenty of time to do as you wish. You will have the option to schedule one-on-one creative coaching sessions with me throughout the retreat, but these are optional. Breakfast, drinks, and snacks will be provided daily, and a welcome dinner is included. You will be free to prepare other meals in the large, well-equipped shared kitchen, or visit one of the nearby restaurants. A transfer from and to San Jose airport, or another airport nearby, is also included along with transportation to/from the planned activities. On our first day, you will be picked up from SJO airport (or a hotel close to the airport if arranged in advance). The car will pick up each trip mate and drive you to the villa, which is about a 4 ½ hour drive. You also have the option of having your transportation arranged from another airport or a nearby Tamarindo location if you are coming from another part of Costa Rica. You'll find your bed and a welcome self-care kit in your room. There are two rooms available, one king bed, and a shared room with two full beds. The condo has 2 1/2 bathrooms. The first person to book and pay in full will receive the primary bedroom with the king bed. We will unwind with welcome snacks and drinks before our welcome dinner in our villa. The first night is all about relaxing and resetting to get in a creative headspace. On the second day, we will start early with breakfast served in our condo kitchen. This will be a buffet-style self-serve breakfast each morning. Then we will head off to our first surfing lesson in the morning. These 2-hour lessons will be provided by a local surf instructor. After the surf session we will head back to the condo and have the rest of the day free. Our third day will follow the same schedule as the second day. We will have breakfast followed by a surf lesson, then free time. On our fourth day, we will head out for our local family farm visit where we will enjoy a traditional Guanacaste breakfast, meet the farm animals, learn to milk a cow, pick fruit on an oxcart ride, and go horseback riding through the farmland. We will be back at the condo around lunch time and free to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish. On our fifth day, we will start the day with breakfast then you will be free to do as you wish for the entire day. You can explore the area, go to the beach, write, create, read, or relax by the shared pool at the condo. On the sixth day, we will start with an early breakfast in our condo before heading off to surf. Once the lesson is complete you will have the rest of the day free. On the seventh day, we will follow the same schedule as the previous day by starting with breakfast and a surf lesson. On the eighth day, we will start the morning with breakfast then you will be free to do as you wish until 4pm. We will meet up at the condo at 4 for our cooking class. On the ninth day, we will again start the morning with an early breakfast followed by a surf lesson. Spend the rest of the day doing something creative, exploring the nature, or relaxing. On the tenth day, we will start with another early breakfast before having our final surf lesson. You will have the rest of the day free to finish up your trip however you’d like. On the eleventh day, we will have coffee and our buffet-style breakfast before the shuttle to the airport is scheduled to arrive. Check-out and departure will be in the morning. The shuttle will arrive with plenty of time to get you to the airport for a late afternoon or evening flight. If your flight doesn't leave the same day, you have an option to be dropped at another location nearby the airport, but this must be arranged in advance. Alternatively, if you're staying on in Costa Rica, I can assist you in arranging transportation to your next destination. This should give you an idea of what will happen during your getaway, and I’ll provide a more detailed itinerary and a suggested packing list shortly after booking. Vegan and vegetarian diets can be accommodated (though a vegan option may not be available for the cooking lesson). Common allergies can also be accommodated. We will be sharing an amazing, air-conditioned, luxury condo with a shared pool in a beautiful neighborhood of Playa that is about a 17-minute walk to the beach. The booking has already been confirmed by the property owner. The condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. One of the available rooms is a private primary room with a king bed and one room with two full beds will be shared by two people. The first person to book and pay in full will receive the primary bedroom with the king bed.
