Every day many Thai and foreign tourists travel here to shop, eat, and absorb the atmosphere of Thailand water markets that have been like this for over a 100 years. Klong Damnoen Saduak Damnoen Saduak is the straightest and longest canal in Thailand. The canal was built on royal initiative as King Rama IV of Thailand wanted to link the Mae Klong River with Chinese river ways to support transportation and trade. It took over 2 years to dig, and was eventually finished under the reign of his successor King Rama V. The canal is 32 kilometers long and has more than 200 branches. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market's popularity grew to new heights in 1971-1973 when the river was full of farmers on their boats selling their wares. And that is the way trade is performed in this area until today. From there, we will move on to Maeklong Market or Talad Rom Hub is one of the best places to visit in Thailand, located in Samut Songkhram province. It is well-known as Talad Rom Hub (“Rom Hub” literally means “Closed Umbrella”) It is a local market that set up along the railway in of the route of “Bann Laem – Mae Klong” It is a kind of daytime market from the morning until early evening. There is a lot of people walk through and buy goods such as fresh seafood, vegetable and various colorful fruits and other groceries. Then they hear the Train whistle, local merchants quickly move products when the train comes they fold up all the tents and move everything out of the way. When the train passes by they set everything back up again in few minutes. The train pass through Maeklong Train Station 8 times a day since the morning to the evening. The third day in Bangkok, we will visit several temples around the capital, including: - Wat Arun Temple, is located on Arun Amarin Road on the Thon Buri side of the Chao Phraya River directly opposite Wat Pho. It is a temple that has existed since the Ayutthaya period. In the reign of King Rama III, there was a construction of a large pagoda that is 82 metres high and 234 metres wide. It was completed in the reign of King Rama IV the Great, and changed its name to Wat Arun Ratchawararam like it is still called today. - Wat Pho Temple, is located on Maha Rat Road next to the Grand Palace. It is a first class royal Temple and is an ancient temple, which King Rama I the Great ordered to be built for monks to study Dharma. Wat pho has a large reclining Buddha image that was constructed during the reign of King Rama III of masonry, mortar, and covered with gold. Its length is 46 meters and height is 15 meters. - The Grand Palace, was established in 1782 and it consists of not only royal and throne halls, but also a number of government offices as well as the renowned Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
