Guided trip
EDIT: We have one place remaining in our van and therefore the trip. We would love to take one more traveler on board for the road trip of a lifetime. We have our very own resident photographer on board so you bound to get some pretty dope pictures of it all :) We’re looking for 3 Bravehearts to join us north of the border in an adventure-filled week, that will see us diving into waterfalls, canoeing through Highland lochs, toasting the sunset on our private island, and blasting the proclaimers across 500 miles of the North-Coast 500. I’m on my way, are you? This trip offers two wild camping opportunities; where we will stare gaze amongst the mountains of Glencoe and exchange campfire stories along the beach of Loch Morlich. The other two nights shall witness us finding shelter in the Glencoul bothy of Assynt and the Kearvaig Bothy of Cape wrath; Aloft the most Northly point we will watch the sun slowly rest into its night slumber as the final colors of the day dance across the Atlantic Ocean. Illuminated by moonlight we shall see out the last hours of the day with a trio of games on our own private island; as the world slowly disappears from existence, but for the sound of crashing waves. About me: I’m Mitch, I'm a 25-year-old whose solo traveled Southeast Asia, and the Balkans. I’m a Yorkshire lad from the sunshine state of Doncaster and with my mate Matt (and his dog Blue), we road trip around Scotland twice a year, exploring the very best the north has to offer. We’re chilled, active, adventure-seeking individuals who enjoy a good laugh and meeting new people. We’d like to invite you along on our Highland expedition; to share our experiences of this wonderful country (despite their referendum attempts, lol). What’s included in the price? 😊 - Fuel, van hire, and transport - Food - Your own private tent - The van includes two beds (but I would urge anyone to camp out in the tents) - Ferry and taxi to and fro Cape Wrath - Cape Wrath Tour - Fire, grill, logs, Food - Activities - Goodie bag - Highland Bothies (for two nights) - A barrel (of laughs) - A small TripLeader fee for planning and organizing a killer trip 😜 What’s not included in the price? 🙁 - Drinks/snacks - Sleeping bag - Towels, hiking boots, Waterproofs - A Scottish Accent - A giant crustacean from the paleolithic era (No loch Ness monster guarantee) We have a camper van to rent for the 5 days/4 night expedition. It is complete with a fully functioning toilet (should you receive the call to nature), a stove (not that we'll need it), and plenty of luggage space for all our gear. The van has plenty of room, boasting 5 seats and 4 beds, should anyone feel more comfortable sleeping inside the car. Matt loves driving across the North Coast 500. So you’re welcome to sit back, relax, play with the dog, add to the playlist, chat, look out the window at the incredible views, or join us in a game of Eddie Stobart. If you’re even a slight bit interested just drop me or Matt a message and we'll give you some more details. It’s a pretty wicked trip and one we hope you’ll be a part of. What are you waiting for? Make like Willie Nelson and Get on the road again 😉

Trip Itinerary
1

Newcastle upon Tyne

Day 1
Meet-up: We will meet just on the edge of the city centre bright and early, where we will briefly chat, break the ice and load the car for the journey ahead. If anyone needs to pick up some last-minute supplies we will kindly stop off at a shop and collect supplies for the journey ahead.
2

Mares Braids Waterfall

Day 1
First, stop up north - The idyllic Mares Braids Waterfall, on the crest of Scotland. Here we will briefly stretch our legs, and wander around the beach and falls as we give Blue a well-deserved walk around.
3

Galloway Forest Park

Day 1
Second, We begin our ascent up the north with a stop off in Galloway forest; where we will again let Blue free, to roam around the woodland. Here we will hike to the lesser know Raiders Road otter Pools. Unconditionally, I'm jumping in and splashing the life out of the dog! It's a great place to relax, watch the nature around you, and to get your feet wet for the adventures ahead.
4

Loch Lomond

Day 1
Third, We climb higher and higher into Scotland and the road trip is well and truly underway. Loch Lomond offers a catalog of activities to get involved in. Here we encounter a group decision - we can hire bikes, canoes, or just have a relaxed hike around (and maybe even a dip).
5

Glencoe

Day 1-2
The final stop of the day: The mountains of Glencoe. Here we set-up camp for the night, get the fire going, crack some tunes on, open a few brewski's and mellow out. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know everyone even better, by sharing some campfire stories, enjoying a couple of smokes and sharing some BBQ. As the last embers of the night dwindle away, we can silently gaze at the stars in the company of mountains; the perfect end to an amazing first day.
6

Camino a Signal Rock

Day 2
The morning after the night before - With a fairly early wake-up, we will ascend the signal point trail and hike around the mountains of Glencoe. The scenery here is honestly breathtaking and you'll be happy you didn't spend an extra 30 minutes in bed.
7

Loch Ness

Day 2
No trip to Scotland is complete without a short trip to Loch Ness. This stop is an ideal break for Blue as she loves wandering around this fabled loch and it's the perfect opportunity for any photographers to unload their artistic flair. Though we can't promise a Nessy appearance it doesn't hurt to wander around the open water with 3 fiddy in your pocket should the chance arise.
8

Clashnessie Falls

Day 2
We're in the Highlands now laddy! Higher and higher we go, up to Clashnessie. Here we will explore the Stoer lighthouse, briefly wander through the small town of Clashnessie and behold Loch Assynt. If that isn't enough we will delve into the mystical Allt Chranaidh Waterfall, and hike to our accommodation for the night.
9

Glencoul Bothy

Day 2-3
Highland Bothy; A short walk from the car we find our home for the night Glencoul Bothy. A small house we will make camp in for the night. Again we'll set-up camp, get the fire going outside and get some food cooking after the long day. A few well-deserved beverages may be consumed in the evening and an early (ish) night in preparation for the big one, tomorrow morning.
10

Durness

Day 3
Desert for breakfast?? First stop - Highland cow ice cream. I won't talk too much about this stop, except to say, that the milk that flows from a highland cows teet is a different kinda cream. You just gotta taste it to believe it.
11

Cape Wrath

Day 3
The big one - In Durness, we will catch a 20-minute boat ride to the cape, and from here we will take a 2.5-hour guided bus tour around the cape. After we will exit the bus on its return leg to drop our gear off at our accommodation for the night Kervaig Bothy and we will explore the cape for ourselves and take a load off on the beaches of the cape.
12

Kearvaig Bothy

Day 3-4
For one night only... Our own house on our own slice of earth. As this planet slips into the eternity of the Atlantic we can enjoy the bounty of nature. We will construct an enormous beach fire, where the waves tickle the embers of our light. As we look out into galaxy we will smash burgers, drink some beers and hold this night as one we'll never forget. Me and Matt have some fun beach/drinking games to teach you before the sun drips away and we're illuminated by nothing other than moonlight. We will sleep in the large Kervaig bothy with nothing but the sound of crashing waves to serenade us to sleep.
13

Durness

Day 4
The journey southeast. After an incredible night, we will pack our things away leaving no waste (as per), and walk to the pier where we will await our boat to pick us up and return us to the mainland.
14

Black Isle

Day 4
(TIME-DEPENDENT) We will continue our descent south to the black isles and explore this lesser-known region of Scotland. There are plenty of swimming opportunities in many waterfalls and even the sea! If you're not fancying a dip, however, we can hike around the enchanting shores and delve into the caves.
15

Cairngorms Activities

Day 4
The beating heart of Scotland - The Cairngorms; A serene mountainous region full of activities and wildlife. Here we will decide on what activities to do and spend the day either - canoeing, biking, paddle boarding, hiking, swimming, or any of the other many possibilities, the day is really in your hands. Cairngorms is a sandbox of adventure and will satisfy even the most daring thrill seeker.
16

Loch Morlich

Day 4-5
Our last night together :’( In recognition of this fact, we have selected the charming shores of Loch Morlich. A hotbed of activity throughout the day, at night a calming, chilled atmosphere where some campers, sleep upon the banks of the shore, exchanging company, drinks, food and good times. This night offers relaxing entertainment with like-minded souls. Our second and final wild camping installment will offer one last BBQ meal option, one last campfire and yet another memory to store for the rest of our lives.
17

Calton Hill

Day 5
I'm not leaving, I'm not leaving, I'm not fxxking leaving!!! THE SHOW GOES ON HAPPY CAMPERS! Yes, we're heading south but we're making a few stops along the way. 1st up; we're hitting Edingburgh, climbing Carlton Hill and we're ascending the throne of Scotland as we climb upon Arthur's seat
18

Edinburgh

Day 5
The Capital. No visit is complete without a wander around the castle, lazying around the parks, and doing a bit of shopping. Here you will have the unusual opportunity to eat some UN-BBQ food, as we enjoy our last meal together as a group.
19

Edinburgh beach

Day 5
Yes, Edinburgh has a beach! And Yes, Blue absolutely loves it! In the dying embers of our time together we will wander the shores of East Scotland, play catch with the dog and give you time to sort anything out for the big car ride home.
20

Newcastle upon Tyne

Day 5
The End :,( After traveling for hours and maybe a few pit stops here and there along the NC500 we finally make it back to where we all first met. We will bid you all a fond farewell and arrange a meetup in the near future, where maybe you'll show us around your ends. The estimated arrival time is roughly 7 pm. We hope you all have an incredible time and will do everything in our power to facilitate that. Till next time :)
