The Giants Causeway Day Trip from Belfast is one of the country’s most popular excursions. Avoid the crowded bus tour and explore the natural wonder in a more stylish and relaxing way. You will be picked up at your Belfast Hotel by a luxury car, then we will be driving along the beautiful Causeway Coastal route, also named as the world's 8th wonder. The Coastal route is a must-see area of outstanding natural beauty. It is renowned as one of the most scenic coastal drives in Europe. Traveling up Glenariff offers a picturesque journey through a stunning glen, while Glenaan boasts rugged landscapes. We will visit charming villages such as Glenarm, Cushendun, and Cushendall, known as the 'Capital of the Glens.' Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge: One of the highlights along the route is the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, providing access to a salmon fishery on a small island. Hanging 80 feet (25 meters) above the sea, the bridge wobbles and twists with each step, making it a thrilling experience for adventurers (though not recommended for those with vertigo!). Giant Causeway trekking & picnic: We will explore the area in a more unique way by starting with an easy approximately 1-hour trekking on the cliff. From here, you can have an amazing view over the coastline. Excellent photo-taking opportunity. We will rest on the cliff for a light picnic in the pure nature before we walk down to the gigantic stepping stones. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, comprised of around 40,000 polygonal basalt rock columns. This large stretch of staircase-shaped rocks is the result of cooled lava from volcanic eruptions that took place over 65 million years ago. Bushmills Distillery: Short stop at Bushmills Distillery. Opened in 1608, this is the oldest licensed distillery in the world and exports its whiskey internationally. You can shop in a specialist whisky shop. (Optional: you can have a guided tour (90 mins) and whisky tasting in the distillery at your own cost). Dunluce Castle: Short stop for photo-taking at the castle. It is one of the most dramatic castle ruins in the world. Prepare to be amazed at the way this old castle hangs over the edge of the cliffs. The castle is located dramatically close to a headland that plunges straight into the sea. (Optional: you can enter the castle at additional cost). The Dark Hedges: The most photographed natural phenomenon in Northern Ireland. It is well-known from the Games of Thrones. Ideally, we arrive before sunset when the lighting and colors are the best for photography. Rathlin Island: This remote island is the perfect setting for a great story, and Rathlin has more than its fair share. It was here that King Robert of Scotland was exiled in the 14th century, and where he re-found his courage; while sitting in a cave pondering his next move, he witnessed a spider's determination to repair its broken web and was inspired to return and reclaim his throne. And the Sea of Moyle (which you cross to reach Rathlin) was where the tragic Children of Lir spent 300 years as swans; back across the sea at Ballycastle, you can visit a beautiful sculpture dedicated to the children. Beneath the surface The waters of Rathlin have many tales lying beneath the surface: a popular place for wreck divers, Rathlin Island has over 40 shipwrecks dotted around its coast. Even though the island is relatively small, its unusual "L" shape means it’s home to three different lighthouses, each with its own unique appeal. The East Lighthouse, the oldest of Rathlin’s lighthouses, sits high above Robert the Bruce’s Cave. On your path to Rue Lighthouse, you’ll meet friendly seals as a paved track leading over the craggy rocks brings you to the striped wonder. And the West Lighthouse, beside the seabird centre, has an especially unusual feature – it is known as Ireland’s only upside down lighthouse!
