Arrival and get-together day! 👋 Day 1 – 8 April ✈️ Welcome to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)! Our journey kicks off with a warm meet-up at the airport. We'll pick up our rental car 🚗 and head straight to the heart of Kuala Lumpur. 🏡 After settling into our cozy accommodation in Desa Petaling, we'll dive into the vibrant city life of Kuala Lumpur. 🌆 Afternoon Highlights: KLCC Park – A lush urban oasis perfect for unwinding and taking in views of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. 🌙 Evening Adventure: Head to the bustling Jalan Alor Night Market 🍴, famous for its incredible variety of Malaysian street food. Savor must-try dishes like: Char Kway Teow – A stir-fried flat noodle classic with shrimp, egg, and bean sprouts. Satay – Skewers of marinated meat grilled to perfection, served with peanut sauce. Cendol – A refreshing dessert with shaved ice, palm sugar, and pandan-flavored jelly. Let’s take in the energy of the city and make the most of our first evening together! 🌟

Day 2-3
Temples and art day! 🎨✨ Day 2 – 9 April 🌞 Morning Excursion: Batu Caves 🕉️ – We're going to start the day at one of Malaysia’s most iconic landmarks. Climb the 272 rainbow-colored steps to explore the sacred Hindu temple nestled within a limestone cave. The caves are over 400 million years old and are dedicated to Lord Murugan, whose towering golden statue greets visitors at the entrance! Look out for playful monkeys along the way. 🐒 🌟 Afternoon Creativity: We'll head to the Jadi Batek Gallery for a hands-on batik painting workshop. This traditional Malaysian art form, where intricate designs are created with wax and vibrant dyes. You’ll paint your very own custom tote bag, perfect for storing souvenirs from the trip! 👜 Then, we'll visit the stunning Thean Hou Temple, one of Southeast Asia’s oldest and largest temples. Dedicated to the Chinese sea goddess Mazu, the temple is adorned with colorful lanterns, intricate carvings, and beautiful architecture. Fun fact: It blends elements of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism, showcasing Malaysia’s multicultural heritage. Day 3-4
Road Trip to Historic Malacca! 🚗🏰 Day 3 – 10 April 🌞 Morning Drive: Start with a 🕐 1h50 drive from Desa Petaling to Malacca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in history and charm. 🌆 Late Morning Exploration: Dutch Square – We'll explore this vibrant square with its iconic Christ Church and Clock Tower, all painted in striking red. St. Paul’s Hill – We'll climb to the ruins of St. Paul’s Church for panoramic views and a glimpse of Malacca’s Portuguese past. 🍴 Lunch Break: For an amazing meal we'll find a restaurant nearby. Maybe try some Nyonya cuisine, a delightful blend of Chinese and Malay flavors, some dishes are Chicken Pongteh or Nyonya Laksa. 🏛️ Afternoon: Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum – Discover the traditions of the Peranakan people in this beautifully restored ancestral home. 🌙 Optional Evening: If time permits, we'll stop by Jonker Street Night Market for local treats like Chicken Rice Balls or Cendol and some evening shopping. 🌌 Return Home: After a full day, we’ll make the 2-hour drive back to Desa Petaling to rest and recharge for tomorrow's adventure! 🌟

Day 4-5
Discovering Penang’s Charm! 🏙️✨ Day 4 – 11 April 🌞 Morning Flight: We’ll catch an early flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Penang and settle into our new conveniently located accommodation, perfect for exploring George Town on foot. 🌆 Walking Tour of George Town: We’ll explore George Town’s historic sites, taking in its UNESCO World Heritage charm and famous street art murals. Keep an eye out for interactive art pieces like “Kids on a Bicycle”! 🚴 🍴 Lunch: We’ll enjoy some delicious Penang specialties to fuel up for the day. Options might include Char Kway Teow or Asam Laksa, both iconic dishes. 🌊 Afternoon Visit to the Clan Jetties: We’ll wander through these traditional stilt-house communities built over the water, learning about the daily lives of the residents and soaking in the unique atmosphere. 🛕 Kek Lok Si Temple: We’ll ascend this stunning Buddhist temple, the largest in Malaysia, using a one-way inclined lift to reach the top for breathtaking views and majestic statues. As we descend on foot, we’ll pass through colourful stalls and gardens. 🌙 Dinner – Penang Street Food Safari: To wrap up the day, we’ll dive into Penang’s legendary street food scene, sampling dishes like Hokkien Mee, Oyster Omelette, and sweet treats like Ais Kacang. This day is all about immersing ourselves in Penang’s unique culture, flavours, and history! 🌟

Kota Kinabalu

Day 5-6
Cultural Immersion in Sabah! 🌏✨ Day 5 – 12 April ✈️ Morning Flight: We’ll fly from Penang International Airport to Kota Kinabalu International Airport. After landing, we’ll pick up our rental car and head to our new accommodation, our home for the next two nights. 🌟 Afternoon Highlight – Mari Mari Cultural Village: At the Mari Mari Cultural Village, we’ll explore the fascinating traditions of Sabah’s indigenous tribes. We’ll walk through traditional homes, watch artisans at work, taste tribal delicacies, and enjoy vibrant cultural performances. 🌆 Evening in Kota Kinabalu: In the evening, we can explore Kota Kinabalu or just relax somewhere in the beach. Some ideas are: Handicraft Market, historic Atkinson Clock Tower, or walk along the KK Waterfront to soak in the vibrant atmosphere. For a serene end to the day, we can watch the golden sunset at Tanjung Aru Beach, one of Sabah’s most famous spots. This day gives us the perfect balance of cultural immersion and relaxed exploration in Kota Kinabalu. 🌴

Day 6-7
Diving into Paradise! 🐠🌊 Day 6 – 13 April 🌞 Morning: We’re diving into an incredible underwater adventure in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, catering to both certified and non-certified divers! This day promises unforgettable memories in one of Malaysia’s most stunning marine-protected environments. *Option 1: For Certified Divers* If you hold a scuba certification and have dived within the last year, the Fun Dive Package is tailored for you! 🌊 Duration: Approx. 7 hours (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) 📍 Location: Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park What’s Included: Two guided dives (max depth 12m) 🌊 Boat transfers to/from the islands 🚤 Full dive equipment rental 🐠 Professional dive guides 🛟 Lunch and drinking water 🍴 *Option 2: For Non-Certified Divers* If you’re new to diving, the Discover Scuba Diving Program is perfect. This beginner-friendly experience introduces you to the underwater world with full guidance. 🌊 Duration: Approx. 6–7 hours (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) 📍 Location: Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park What’s Included: One practice session in shallow water (confined area). Kinabalu Park

Day 7-8
Nature’s Haven in Kota Kinabalu Park! 🏔️🌿 Day 7 – 14 April 🚗 Morning Road Trip: We’ll pack up and hit the road for a scenic 2-hour drive to Kundasang, where our cosy cabin awaits. With breathtaking views of Mount Kinabalu, this will be our serene retreat for the next two nights. 🌿 Mid-morning or Afternoon Adventure – Poring Hot Spring & Nature Trails: Once settled, we’ll head to Poring Hot Spring, nestled within the lush Kota Kinabalu Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The warm, mineral-rich waters here are perfect for relaxation. 🌸 Highlights of the Day: Soak in the Hot Springs: Dip into warm baths surrounded by the beauty of nature, a great way to unwind after the drive. Explore the Botanical Gardens: Stroll through the gardens, which are home to rare orchids and exotic plants. Waterfall Hikes: Depending on how we feel, we’ll choose between: Kipungit Waterfall: A short and gentle hike (1 km, ~15 minutes). Langanan Waterfall: A more challenging but rewarding trek (3.4 km, ~2 hours) to one of the tallest waterfalls in Sabah. 🌄 Evening: Back at the cabin, we’ll enjoy the peaceful ambience and spectacular views of Mount Kinabalu. A relaxing evening in nature awaits, filled with fresh mountain air and the sounds of the wild. This day is all about immersing ourselves in nature and finding tranquillity in one of Sabah’s most beautiful settings. 🌟 Buffer & Explore Day! 🌿✨ Day 8 – 15 April This is our buffer day! It’s a flexible day for us to revisit places we loved, explore activities we missed due to weather or time, or simply relax in our beautiful cabin. If none of the above applies, I’ve prepared some great activity suggestions for us to make the most of the day! This will also be our last night in the Kundasang cabin, so let’s savour the views of Mount Kinabalu and the serenity of nature. 🌌 Evening: As the day winds down, we’ll enjoy our last night in this peaceful haven, relishing the memories of our adventure and the beauty of Mount Kinabalu. A perfect way to wrap up our time in Malaysia! 🌟

Kota Kinabalu International Airport

Day 8-9
Farewell to Sabah 🌴✈️ Day 9 – 16 April 🌅 Morning: We’ll enjoy a final breakfast with breathtaking views of Mount Kinabalu before driving back to Kota Kinabalu. The journey will take about 2 hours, giving us one last chance to soak in the scenic beauty of Sabah. 🛍️ Free Time in Kota Kinabalu: Once in the city, we’ll have time to explore, shop for last-minute souvenirs, or revisit your favorite spots before heading to the airport. Whether it’s handcrafted items, delicious snacks, or unique keepsakes, Kota Kinabalu has plenty to offer. ✈️ Departure Options: You can take your international flight home directly from Kota Kinabalu International Airport, or Catch a flight back to Kuala Lumpur and depart from there. 🛋️ Option to Extend: If you’re not ready to say goodbye to Malaysia, you’re welcome to stay longer and explore more of this incredible country at your own pace. The adventure doesn’t have to end here!
