Trip Itinerary
1
Akaba
Day 1-3
Our starting point will be Aqaba - where the weather is perfect all year round. Aqaba sits on the northeastern tip of the Red Sea and is surrounded by mountains and desert. It has the ideal combination of city life, beaches, and history. Stroll through old town Aqaba’s colorful souqs (markets), visit the mosque, beach, and much more! Here we will have a food tour together, to try some delicious local dishes! This tour is with a local guide, so we will have the chance to ask him about life in Jordan.
2
Wadi Rum Reserve
Day 3
Our driver will pick us up in the morning, and we will start driving in the direction of the desert until we reach the border of Wadi Rum. From there we will change to a jeep and have multiple photo stops and a lunch break together. There are 2-3 hour tours available - however, I would like to do a full-day one, so we don't have to hurry and are able to see everything. Some of the things we will see include: - Khazali Canyon - Lawrences House - Lawrence spring - White Desert - Mushroom Rock - Um Fruth Rock Bridge - Burdah Bridge In the evening we will go to have traditional lunch in the bedouin camp, where we will also spend the night - hopefully we will see lots of stars! It can get really cold at night, so be prepared and pack some warm clothes.
3
Wadi Rum
Day 3-4
At Wadi Rum you will get a unique insight into the Bedouin lifestyle. While Petra is all about how humans left their footsteps and their remains carved into nature, Wadi Rum is how human civilizations live in accordance with nature. They simply blend in seamlessly. The red desert makes you feel lost in space and sometimes you don’t see anybody for several kilometers. The next morning, we will have breakfast with the bedouins and head back to the pickup-point of our driver, who will bring us to our next destination - Petra!
4
Wadi Musa
Day 4-5
No trip to Jordan is complete without a stop in Petra. Petra is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most-visited tourist attraction, and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. A unique city sculpted on the rocks by the Nebauteus, the Arabic people who once lived in the Jordan deserts around Petra, a place that became a very important mark of the Silk route. From Wadi Rum to Petra it takes about 2 hours by car, so we will arrive early, drop our luggage and visit Petra. There are different trails, we can decide together which one we will hike.
5
Amman
Day 5-7
From Aqaba, we will drive to Amman and visit the city together. Amman is the capital and the largest city of Jordan. This is also where we will spend our New Year’s as there are many bars to celebrate. We will visit the top sightseeing spots as well as some local restaurants and try the traditional cuisine.
6
Amman
Day 7
Our trip ends in Amman, you can fly home from there or take a bus (or flight) back to Aqaba and fly back the next day. See you on the next trip!
