Learn photography in New York

Swiss photographer Rolf Arni lived in New York and has led several trips in the city of Manhattan and the surrounding Borrows. Deepen your photo knowledge or learn it from scratch! In the group and on vacation it's especially fun and stays with you for a long time. 5 days of photography and the magic of New York, the city that never sleeps. Hotel: tbd (3.5-4 star, in the middle of Manhattan) Duration: just under 1 week. Max participants: 8 Highlights: Beside the well known touristic highlights also a few insider locations. Culinary highlights in addition to photography Suitable for beginners and advanced The price includes the following: - Full program around photography and exercises - Guided tours as well as explanations about the different parts of the city during the trip - Transportation during the trip from/to JFK airport (flight LX 14 and return LX17) and transportation by Subway or cab - 6 nights in 3.5 to 4-star hotel in the middle of the city - Visit to a skyscraper (Empire State, Rockefeller, One World Trade Center or others). Not included: - Travel to and from New York. Part 2: Focal length, lenses, depth of field Part 3: Perspectives, golden ratio, attention Part 4: Night photography Part 5: Focusing, accessories Requirements and Equipment: - Photo equipment for landscape and night photography (system or SLR camera, lenses, possibly tripod, strap, batteries, memory cards, etc.). - Additional equipment (Canon only) will be provided by Rentalens - please indicate what you would like to test when registering. - Laptop with Lightroom for editing (optional) - Clothing (weather appropriate) Example daily schedule (subject to change): Day 0: Individual arrival, arrival and room check-in. Optional dinner in the evening. Day 1: Breakfast, then the first two excursions. In between lunch together. Evening and dinner. At breakfast and during the excursions course on camera operation, aperture/shutter speed and ISO. Day 2: Breakfast, then excursions. In between lunch together. Dinner optional. During the excursion, course on lenses, focal lengths and framing, and shooting location/perspective. Day 3: Day at leisure/exercise independently. Tips for sightseeing etc. will be given. Day 4: Breakfast and morning individual, at noon (approx. 13:00) group meeting and meal. Then excursion, including night photography and later optional dinner. During the excursion course on exposure and night photography. Day 5: Breakfast and meeting of the group and excursion. In between lunch together. After breakfast and during the excursions course on focusing, depth of field, flash, accessories and follow along. Day 6: Departure: Breakfast individually or together, course discussion/open questions, return trip individually. Arrival in Switzerland one day later on Saturday.
