Join me on this wonderful, long weekend trip to Bologna and Florence! 🏙️ Bologna is nicknamed ‘the learned one’ for its oldest university in the Western world, ‘the red one’ for its red rooftops of the historic center, and ‘the fat one’, of course, for its food. The accommodation will be a lovely hotel with shared rooms, a 10-min walk from Piazza Maggiore in the historic center. Breakfast is included! 🍳 Florence is famously known as the birthplace of the Renaissance with its rich history, world-renowned museums 🎨, and cultural landmarks 🏛️. I am a very open-minded and social person and I will be delighted to visit Bologna and Florence with you! 🥰 If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me 😀 See you in August! ☀️

Trip Itinerary
1

Bologna

Day 1-2
After checking in we will take it slow, explore the city and try some Italian gelato. In the afternoon, we will be joining a walking tour exploring the historic center’s highlights! We will be seeing Piazza Santo Stefano, the Two Towers, the Jewish Ghetto, Via Piella, Prendiparte Tower, Fountain of Neptune, Piazza Maggiore, Archiginnasio de Bolonia. For dinner, we will eat at an Italian restaurant where you can try Bologna’s famous ragu alla bolognese!
2

Bologna

Day 2-3
For our second day in Bologna, we will be visiting the famous Asinelli Tower and if you are up for it - climb to its top! We will also be exploring some of Bologna’s markets: Mercato Dell’erbe (the oldest market in Bologna) and Mercato Artigianale (to get some amazing authentic Italian souvenirs). Of course, you will get free time in the afternoon to visit museums or other highlights if you’d like. Afterward, we will watch the sunset and enjoy some drinks (like the Italian’s favorite Aperol spritz!) from a rooftop bar with a beautiful view. We will have dinner and for those that are interested, we can explore more bars afterward to get to know the city and its local nightlife.
3

Florence

Day 3-4
We will take the train early in the morning, which will take about 40 min, to go to Florence. Here we will leave our luggage in the hotel and go out and explore the beautiful city with a guided walking tour. We will see the beauties of Florence: Piazza Santa Maria Novella, Piazza Duomo, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Signoria with the beautiful Palazzo Vecchio and the Loggia dei Lanzi. We will also see the famous Uffizi Gallery (from the outside) and the Ponte Vecchio. The tour will end in the beautiful Piazza Santa Croce in front of the basilica which we will visit after! The tour will give us precious advice on where to eat, drink and the shopping hotspots. In the afternoon you will be free to choose what you want to do: Visit the Duomo Complex. Or enjoy Micehlangelo’s famous statue of David at the Accademia Gallery? Or just stroll through the city, then enjoy an Aperol spritz on a sunny terrace and relax? It’s completely up to you!

Florence

Day 4
In the evening, we will be joining a 3-hour long pasta workshop in which a team of professional chefs will teach us how to make different pasta shapes and sauces. We will learn how to make spaghetti and Tortelli together with a few different sauces like Pommarola and the famous ragu alla bolognese! In the end, we will set the table and all eat together with the pasta we made ourselves, like a real Italian family!
5

Uffizi Gallery

Day 4
In the morning, we will go to the famous Uffizi museum where you can enjoy the outstanding collections of sculptures and paintings from worldwide famous artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Sandro Botticelli, and Michelangelo. Of course, you are also free to skip this activity if you prefer to do something else!

Florence

Day 4
After a long and exciting few days of getting to know these two fantastic Italian cities, it will be time for our final lunch together. A chance to eat, relax and reflect on our experience. Our trip will end in the afternoon. You can either decide to stay in Florence on your own or go back to Bologna by train with me. From there, you can go to the airport or stay if you’ve fallen in love with Tuscany, as so many do!
