We'll meander through the city, taking in iconic landmarks like the Gates of Porta Garibaldi, and immersing ourselves in the lively atmosphere of the Fish Market with its dazzling array of fresh catches. Stroll down the colourful Umbrella Street and revel in the best panoramic views of the city. And of course, we can't miss the chance to savor the unique flavours of Catanian PASTA ALLA NORMA, a local culinary delight. Be prepared to do some walking as we explore the city on foot, soaking in its charms, and if needed, we may also make use of public transport. This leisurely day promises to be a delightful introduction to Catania, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey ahead. FISH MARKET, is a bustling, vibrant hub in Catania, where you can immerse in the local culture, witness the freshest catches of the day, and indulge in delicious seafood. PASTA ALLA NORMA is a mouthwatering Sicilian classic - al dente pasta tossed with rich tomato sauce, fried eggplant, basil, and salty ricotta. A taste of Italy's culinary heritage! UMBRELLA STREET is a vibrant display of colorful umbrellas suspended above the narrow alleys of Catania, creating a whimsical and Instagram-worthy atmosphere. A must-visit for a unique and charming experience! BEST VIEWS OF CATANIA is a hidden gem behind the Cathedral of Saint Agatha. Day 2-3
DAY 2. Prepare for a thrilling day of adventure as we embark on a hike to the highest authorized safety altitude of Europe's most active volcano, Mountain Etna. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Etna promises breathtaking views and a physical challenge like no other. Along the way, we'll take breaks to capture unique photos of the summit craters and marvel at the stunning lunar landscape. This hike is one of the most complete and fascinating treks you can experience on Etna, with encounters with craters, fractures, and lava flow. Depending on the fitness level of the group, we have three options to choose from: OPTION 1: Drive to the parking lot at 1900m, hike to 2500m, and continue hiking without a guide to 2900m or with a guide to 3000m. OPTION 2: Drive to the parking lot at 1900m, take a cable car to 2500m, and hike with a guide to 3000m or hike with a guide to 3340m.* OPTION 3: Drive to the parking lot at 1900m, take a cable car to 2500m, and then take a 4x4 to 2750m before hiking with a guide to 3340m.* Get ready for an unforgettable adventure with rewarding views and an unparalleled experience of Europe's most iconic volcano. Regardless of the option we choose, the triumphant achievement of hiking to the highest authorized safety altitude of Mountain Etna will be celebrated in the evening! * Quote from guidevulcanologicheetna.it: “All the routes develop in compliance with the ordinances in force, which are published by the various Municipalities based on the levels of volcanic risk communicated by the Civil Protection and the Institute of Volcanology. The activity of the volcano in fact changes daily and the risk of eruptions can undergo variations at any time if this risk increases then the mayors of the municipalities concerned limit access to certain areas by setting altitude limits. The guides know these areas and avoid them or modify the itinerary of the trip based on their experience and on the communications of the researchers in the event of transiting through prohibited areas."

DAY 3. Catania - Taormina. Distance 70 km, drive time 1 hour. Wake up to a brand-new day of adventure! Today, we embark on an exciting road trip to Taormina, a legendary resort town nestled in the stunning landscapes of Sicily. As we arrive in Taormina, we'll be captivated by the awe-inspiring vistas of the volcanic Mount Etna and the glistening Ionian Sea, which serve as a breathtaking cinematic backdrop to this picturesque town. We'll explore the charming medieval streets, marvel at the well-preserved second-century Greek theater, and hike up the hill behind the church of St. Joseph for panoramic views that are sure to leave us spellbound. But before we embark on our adventures, we'll make a stop at the Taormina Tourist Office for insider tips and recommendations to ensure we make the most of our time in this enchanting town. ANCIENT THEATRE of Taormina is a mesmerizing architectural wonder nestled in the heart of Sicily. With its stunning panoramic views, well-preserved ruins, and rich history, it's a must-visit for culture enthusiasts and history buffs alike. ISOLA BELLA, or "beautiful island," is a breathtaking island off the coast of Sicily. With its crystal-clear turquoise waters, sandy beaches, and lush vegetation, it's a true paradise for nature lovers. Explore its beauty and indulge in the serene surroundings!


Day 4-5
DAY 4. Taormina - Messina - Milazzo - Cefalu. Distance 217 km, drive time 3 hours. Get ready for an early start as we embark on a breathtaking coastal drive that promises to be a feast for the senses. With stunning vistas of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea as our backdrop, we'll journey towards the charming town of Cefalu, making a couple of stops along the way to soak in the unique vibes of different cities. Our first stop is Messina, a bustling city with a rich history and vibrant culture. Here, we'll take a moment to immerse ourselves in the local way of life and take in the sights and sounds of this bustling port city. Our second stop is Capo Milazzo, known for its volcanic islands and picturesque landscapes. We'll be treated to panoramic views of the rugged coastlines and stunning islands, making this a stop worth savoring. Finally, we arrive at Cefalu, renowned as one of Italy's finest resort towns. With its awe-inspiring Norman cathedral, medieval old town, fascinating archaeology museum, and delectable seafood-heavy cuisine, Cefalu is a true gem waiting to be explored. As we explore Palermo, there will be a plethora of activities to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for indulging in local cuisine, soaking up the sun on the beach, or immersing yourself in the rich architectural heritage, Palermo has it all. However, one activity that is truly unique and not to be missed is a visit to the Capuchin Monastery Catacombs. Now, this activity is entirely optional, and if you'd rather spend your time on the beach, that's perfectly fine. But let me tell you, the Capuchin Monastery Catacombs are a fascinating and thought-provoking experience. As we venture into the depths of this historic monastery, we'll be captivated and intrigued by the story behind the catacombs, which hold the remains of the deceased Capuchin monks. As the morning sun rises, we bid farewell to the vibrant streets of Palermo and head towards the scenic Trapani area, our home for the next two days. Here, we have the flexibility to tailor our itinerary based on our personal preferences and energy levels. If you're feeling adventurous and eager to explore, we can embark on exciting day trips to the surrounding areas. Alternatively, if you're in need of some relaxation and rejuvenation, we can also enjoy one or two half days at leisure, indulging in the stunning landscapes and local culture without compromising our main itinerary. Flexibility is the key as we make the most of our time in the Trapani area, creating cherished memories and immersing ourselves in the unique charm of this region. So, whether you choose to venture out or take a moment to unwind, our main program remains intact, promising an unforgettable experience in the beautiful Trapani area. Optional activities: 1. Hike Monte Monaco, Monte Cofano, or National Park Zingaro. 2. Visit Ghost Town.
