Discover Mexico's Hidden Wonders: Sierra Gorda Queretaro

Hosted by

Guided trip
Join me on a road trip through the most wonderful hidden sites that Queretaro (Mexico) has to offer. Where not only your sight will be amazed, but all your senses and especially your heart as we get to know the amazing people and culture that conforms the Sierra Gorda. I'm excited to share with you a little taste of our culture in 3 days! Yes! 3 days where we'll go back in time to historical buildings 🏰, experience cultural dishes 🥘, have a chance of sleeping under a sky full of stars, adventure on an aquatic hike 🌄 through a beautiful hidden river (one of my favorite rivers close to my hometown), sleep on a beautiful glamping site and finally to get back home well rested. 🚗 Since the area we're going to travel to is composed of villages/nature and we have little time, to be more efficient our transportation will be done by a rental car. We'll count on an experienced driver, so you just need to lay down and enjoy the beautiful sights on the road trip 🏡 Our accommodation will be a modern glamping on Pinal de Amoles, where we'll have bedrooms of 2 double beds. And a beautiful local house on Jalpan de Serra. The house is equipped with all the comforts we might need, we do have a complete kitchenette in addition to a wonderful patio to relax and use in case we want to have meals at home. 🪧 Since this is a place that I know very well, for me it's easy to adapt and include any suggestion you might have, my only concern is giving a smooth journey during this little duration trip, balancing relaxation and active times. 🤝 The activities are a mix of cultural and natural experiences that stimulate the use of all your senses. I'll go into more detail about each one in the day's description. I do have some others under my sleeve depending on the preferences of the tripmates I'll be sharing this trip with. What is included in the price? - Accommodation (both glamping and house) Shared rooms - Visit Chuveje - Visit Rio Escanela - Visit to Cuatro Palos - Visit to Concá - Visit to Árbol Milenario - Visit to Ayutla - Visit to Cueva de los Riscos - Transportation - Dinner and breakfasts - Car rental, gas, and driver - All guides needed (I'll get to this in the day-by-day 🤑 The price you see doesn't include restaurants, groceries, flight tickets, or other activities that we might do. 🥺 In the unfortunate case of not finding 6 tripmates, we'll have to share a higher price on accommodation and transportation. I'm a very open-minded and active person that will show and tell you with great pleasure, the best of this part of Queretaro, a place filled with history and natural richness ready to make you feel alive and connected with this place. See you in June! A warm hug from México.

Trip Itinerary

Santiago de Querétaro

Day 1
Meeting point. We'll planning to leave early so I strongly suggest you arrive the night before. If you need help with tips for your accommodation I can help you, so we can all get together easily on friday morning and leave as soon as we are all together.

Day 1
We'll do a short stop in Bernal, a lovely town, famous for the amazing Peña de Bernal. Here we'll have a delicious breakfast in one of the several local options we'll find. Be sure you bring cash, as you'll be using almost exclusively this payment method along the trip. This stop will be fast, as we'll be arriving early and not a lot of things are available, but we'll be back to finish our trip here and enjoy the city at it's best.

Day 1
First, we'll be arriving to Chuveje, a beautiful and amazing waterfall where you'll experience nature and a little hike. It is an excellent place for a couple good photos and to appreciate nature at its best

Río Escanela

Day 1
After that we'll continue our trip to Rio Escanela, one of the most beautiful wonders that Queretaro has to offer. Here we'll have an aquatic hike (about 5km), and after the amazing views, we are going to eat at one of the multiple local sites near the river, believe me when I tell you it is almost as amazing as the views.

Cuatro Palos

Day 1-2
Finally we'll visit Cuatro Palos, definitely the best view you'll get of Queretaro. Located at the roof of the state, you'll be able to look at the complete picture of the wonders of the Sierra Gorda. The perfect spot to be at sunset, your only concern will be to have enough space in your camara for all the pictures you'll have by now After watching the sunset you'll have a nice dinner and time to rest at an amazing glamping near Cuatro Palos

Misión de Conca

Day 2
We'll start our day with a delicious breakfast at our amazing glamping and then hit the road all the way to Mision Conca, when we'll appreciate some of the most historic buildings in Querétaro and of course have an other amazing nature connection in the famous Arbol Milenario located near the Rio Ayutla

Jalpan de Serra

Day 2-3
After spending all morning between Conca and Rio Ayutla, we'll move to Jalpan de Serra, a beautiful and colorfull town where we'll taste some of the best food and visit another historic building. We'll make a little stop in the house where we'll be staying to rest and refresh and then make the last visit of the day to Cueva de los Riscos and have a little hike in this amazing rock formation

Day 3
Our last day will start with a well deserved delicious breakfast and after that we'll hit the road in our way back to Queretaro, in our roadtrip we'll stop at Bernal (where we took our first breakfast together) and appreciate the beauty of the town with a little more calm than before. It's also a great place to take some last pictures and have an amazing wine tasting session.
