Bari is a beautiful Italian city on the Adriatic Sea, famous for its incredibly long beachfront promenade and its orecchiette pasta. Join me on a long weekend (Friday to Monday) as we explore the wonderful city of Bari, as well as the nearby towns of Alberobello (famous for its fairytale-like trulli houses) and Matera (famous for its stone buildings and magical caves). Bari is a place of ethereal wonder and it would be amiss to not visit at least once in your life! This trip is a great way to immerse yourself in Bari's amazing culture in an affordable yet super fun way!
My name is Josh and I am from the UK. I have travelled to many Italian cities already and I am keen to add Bari to that list! I love to travel and have visited a lot of countries in Europe and the rest of the world. I love finding people to travel with and I always aim to make my trips fun and personable. I've made a lot of friends on my travels and always up for making more!
The accommodation will be a hotel or an AirBnB in Bari (depending on which is the nicer option) and the rooms will be shared. We will be near shops and other amenities so it will be easy to get anything we need. We will also be located in a place where it will be easy to reach all the activities that are planned. If you need any extra amenities, then please let me know.

Trip Itinerary
1
Bari
Day 1-2
Day of arrival! There are no set plans for this day as everyone will be arriving at different times. We will all meet at the accommodation and we can have dinner and drinks together in the evening. Those who arrive early can start exploring the city together.
2
Alberobello
Day 2
On day 2, we will join a tour that will allow us to visit Alberobello and Mantera in one day. Alberobello is famous for its trulli houses which are houses with a conical stone roof. The village has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I think it looks like something out of a fairytale and it is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
3
Matera
Day 2-3
After Alberobello, we will travel to Matera. Matera is mainly known for its 'Sassi' which are its districts consisting of caves which people have inhabited for centuries. Even the buildings not part of the Sassi are still made of stone, giving Matera a wonderful medieval aesthetic that feels almost mystical. We will return to Bari in the evening.
4
Bari
Day 3-4
On day 3, we will explore Bari. We will visit the picturesque Bari old town and old harbour. We will aim to visit all the notable buildings such as Bari Cathedral, Basilica San Nicola and Castello Svevo. For food, we will wander down Strada Delle Orechiette where we can hopefully watch orechiette pasta being made and then eat some ourselves. We can relax on the beach in the afternoon. On the final day, there are no specific plans as everyone will be leaving at different times. If there is something we didn't get to do/see on day 3, then we will try to do/see it on day 4. Otherwise, that will be the end of the trip and I will hope to see you again on another trip!
