Hey!!! 🖐🏻 I am Alex, living in Athens for my photography studies. I grew up in a small mountainous village of Greece called Konitsa. I moved to Athens 4 years ago and now i’m living here, exploring small hidden corners, searching for Greek traditional fiestas in the city, trying to make a big city feel like home. About our trip: We will be living in the center to be able to walk around to experience the city to the fullest. We will be sharing rooms in a hostel. What I truly want to show you is not the touristic side of Athens, the monuments and the full extravagant presentation of the Greek culture. On the contrary, I will be showing you the beautiful side of Greece but also the real one. I will be showing you what real Greek music is, rempetika, music from the 60s, traditional music from all around Greece. We will be walking to historical places, but also to neighborhoods that are making history at the present. We will also be going to the mountain Hemittus where there is the perfect spot to relax and have a drink after our short hike to a beautiful view point. As far as the last day is concerned, I wanted it to be free to decide together, after having seen Athens, what would we all like to do. 📸 I should add that as a photographer, I will be glad to photo cover our experience in Athens (if you wish so). 📸 Reasonableness to say that if you would like to discuss the trip, to add or change something, I will be glad to do it! We will meet at the place we will be living for the next 7 days (6 nights). Depending on the time of your arrivals, we will settle down and then arrange the program of the day. We will of course have a welcome lunch/ dinner to a traditional tavern so as to meet each other!

Day 2-3
Thisio/Filopappou/Acropole The second day we will be walking to the most historical places of Athens. We will start our walk from Thiseio until the beautiful hills of Filopappou and then visit the famous Acropolis. We will also be able to see the sunset from a beautiful hill.

Day 3-4
Plaka/ Anafiotika/ Monastiraki square & flea market On the third day we will visit some of the most picturesque neighborhoods, Plaka and Anafiotika. Then we will visit the central square of Athens and the flea market. At night, we can go have some tsipouro or ouzo at places with Greek traditional music.

Day 4-5
National Garden/ Exarcheia / Strephis Hill On our 4th day, we will be visiting a beautiful oasis, the National Garden. Just a few meters away from Syntagma metro station and right next to the national parliament lies the National Garden which, together with the Ζappeion Hall is a place of full of vegetation, rare kinds of plants, saplings and birds. After we will walk around Exarcheia which has an edgy alternative vibe, its streets decorated with politically charged murals and lined with anarchist bookshops and stores selling rare vinyl and vintage guitars. Bars and clubs host live music, including rembetika, folk traditional music, jazz and punk acts. After we will gaze the view from the beautiful Hill of Strephis

Day 5-6
Mountain Hymettus/ Kalopoula Refreshments / Short hike to Viewpoints On the 5th day, we will be visiting Hymettus Mountain. A beautiful mountain next to Athens. It has a big variety of trails and amazing views. We can end or start our short hike from the picturesque café. Kalopoula's refreshment center is a well-kept secret, away from any noise or pollution, but without being difficult to reach from the city center.

Day 6-7
Our last day, I want it to be free to decide together! Of course, I can suggest places or activities to do but I want to make this decision together! Some of the things I have in mind are: continue our walking tour, slack line in the park, surf at Vouliagmeni, check some museums etc.
