Traveling in the Balkans is an extraordinary experience. We will visit some of the best scenery in Europe with this trip. While traveling, you’ll see plenty of gorgeous monasteries and churches and mosques, beautiful nature, UNESCO sites, oldest lake in Europe, some of the oldest Fortresses in Europe. This is a type of a Trip to not miss. The overall trip will last 12 days, during which we will visit following 4 countries (Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo) and following cities/places: Day 1: Skopje Day 2: Matka Canyon Day 3: Ohrid Day 4: Berat Day 5: Durres city and sea side Day 6: Tirana Day 7: Tirana (Dajti or Kruja) Day 8: Kotor Day 9: Shkoder Day 10: Prizren Day 11: Pristina Day 12: Skopje It will be a guided tour with transportation (15 seater van, mini bus or coach bus). You will be hosted in 3 and 4 star hotels with breakfast included. One meal in restaurant in Durres, Prizren and Pristina. Skopje

Day 1-3
Start this wonderful trip by traveling to Skopje, North Macedonia's capital city. Skopje is one of the most underrated European cities and has a lot of treasures to be discovered. Most of Skopje can be seen in one day, as Macedonia's capital has all popular tourist attractions in a radius of 2-3 kilometers. Some of the highlights are: - Visit the Memorial House of Mother Teresa (optional) - Visit the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle (optional) - Hike up Mount Vodno (optional) - Tour the Kale Fortress (optional) - Explore the neoclassical city center - Go through Skopje’s Old Bazaar Depending on the participants wishes, we will decide which places to visit, or to remove.

Canyon Matka

Day 3
- Escape the city at Matka Canyon (Matka Canyon is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in North Macedonia. It offers the possibility to visit several medieval monasteries. Matka Lake, an artificial lake, is worth seeing too. )

Ohrid

Day 3-4
Ohrid is known for having 365 churches which makes it a very interesting city to visit. The Holy Mother of God Peribleptos church is located in the old part of the city of Ohrid, near the Upper Gate. It is dedicated to the Holy Mother Peribleptos. The extraordinary typical Byzantine architecture and the stunning wall paintings make this church one of the most significant medieval monuments in Macedonia.

Berat

Day 4-5
Berat - The Town Of A Thousand Windows Castle of Berat is called Kalaja. It is a 2,500 year old castle and it is located on the top of a hill, and it offers the panoramic view of the town from above. The town that was built inside the castle’s walls is one of the most authentic places you’ll see in Albania. There are even still people that still live there and it is believed that they are Authocton with roots from thousands years ago. The area looks magical with lots of ancient ruins, wildflowers and small courtyards. From above you can see the Osum river which is also famous for rafting. We will visit the Onufri Museum which is located in the Church of the Dormition of Saint Mary, in the Kala district where you can see extraordinary 16th century paintings created by the greatest Albanian painter of all time.

Durrës

Day 5-7
Durrës is the second-largest town of Albania, after the capital city Tirana and the largest port of Albania. Durrës is a sea town and it is located on the Adriatic sea and offers many things to see, like beautiful beaches and unique archeological sites, such as the largest Roman amphitheater in the Balkan region which was built in the 2nd century AD with a capacity of around 20,000 people. There are plenty of places to relax for a coffee or for a nice meal, and if you can, take the opportunity to visit the Great Mosque of Durrës. Also there are plenty of restaurants next to the seaside, where you can enjoy quiet moments for a few hours.

Tirana

Day 7
Tirana is definitely one of the coolest cities in the Balkans. One of the best things about Tirana is how compact it is, and you can walk around the city. With one day in Tirana, you can cover a lot just by walking. The best way to start the day in Tirana is by grabbing a nice coffee, as Albania holds the record in the world for the highest number of coffee bars per capita, and then you can learn a bit about Albanian history and visit the city’s main historical and cultural sites.

Krujë District

Day 7
Kruja is a historical city symbol of the Albanian resistance against the expansion of the Ottoman Empire during Skanderbeg era. The city is situated in central Albania on a rocky mountainous terrain about 560 meters above sea level. Walking through Kruja’s Medieval Old Bazaar, which is one of the biggest and oldest Bazaars in the Balkans, gives you a sense of the past. You will be surrounded by handmade crafts and local products carefully designed by local artisans and housewives of the Kruja area. The castle of Kruja is strategically placed on the top of the rocks, in very rough terrain making it difficult for the enemies to attack. Caste was built during the 5th century A.D.

Kotor

Day 7-8
Kotor is a finely preserved medieval town in a secluded corner of the visually stunning Bay of Kotor. It is a top attraction in the young Balkan nation of Montenegro in Southeastern Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Shkodër

Day 8-9
Shkoder is also one of the most beautiful cities in the Region, and the most popular attraction in the city is the Rozafa Castle, which is set on the top of the hill, just a few min away from the city center. View from the castle is stunning, from where you can see the impressive Lake of Shkoder, and you can also see the three large rivers meet at the bottom of the hill. Another city highlight is the Venice Art Mask Factory, where you can see 1700 Venetian Masks. In this factory are produced Venetian Masks and are world class pieces of art. You can visit the beautiful city center and enjoy your free time by trying a traditional dish or relaxing in one of many cafeterias around.

Prizren

Day 9-10
Prizren is a small town in Kosovo and it is considered as the cultural capital of Kosovo with rich history, religious tolerance and some of the best restaurants you can find. City can be visited easily in one day. The best thing to do once you are there, is to go to Shadervan which is the heart of the old city center. There are plenty of Restaurants, cafes, and shopping stores. Right there is Sinan Pasha Mosque, from Ottoman times, the oldest and one of the most beautiful ones in the Region. From there is time for a short walk to the most beautiful spot, the fortress of Prizren, and have the best view of the Prizren, where you can see the River, the red roofs, mosques, churches and breathtaking panorama over the city and the Sharri Mountains. Prizren is also home to the world famous film festival Dokufest. Prizren is a historical city for all Albanians as you can find there Albanian League of Prizren Museum which was held in 1878 in demands of autonomy of

Pristina

Day 10-12
Pristina is the second largest city after Tirana lived by Albanians and is one of the safest capital cities to visit. Pristina is the youngest capital in Europe and one of the least visited towns in the Balkan Peninsula. It is not as famous as other destinations of Eastern Europe, but it is a cool city that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. Here you will find some of the friendliest and most welcoming people in the world. Kosovo, like most Balkan countries, is known for its excellent café culture, and it is thought that Kosovo makes the best macchiato in the world. Kosovo cuisine is rich and almost anywhere you can find delicious food. Ju by heading to the old town of Pristina, home to a narrow street, mosques, old shops, ancient houses and one of the best ethnographic museums in the country. Entrance to the museum is free, and guides will explain the history of Kosovo in fluent English. While we’re close there, we won’t miss the stunning Imperial Mosque and its terrific frescoes, located near the museum. We will continue with a walk down Mother Teresa Boulevard, a pedestrian-only area filled with cafes and restaurants up to the Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa.

Skopje

Day 12
It is the end of the trip and it is time to say goodbye. If someone wants to extend the trip, please make a request in advance in order for us to be able to prepare, otherwise you can come back to Prishtina or Stay in Skopje on your own.
