Like everyone here, I love to travel. :) Since my first backpacking trip 10 years ago as a solo traveler, I've fallen in love with backpacking and have traveled to more than 40 countries. I realized that the world is much friendlier, super helpful, and incredibly beautiful than often reported in the daily evening news. That was probably the most important experience for me. The second significant experience was how important social interactions are and how much they can influence the quality of your trip. You can discover the most beautiful beach in the world, climb the highest mountain or have the coldest beer during sunset, but without the right people by your side, this experience is only half as valuable! I went on a 3-week trip to Thailand with Timo and some tripmates via JoinMyTrip - a mix of city trip, island hopping and a wonderful finale in northern Thailand - and it was really great! It was my first backpacking trip and my first trip via JoinMyTrip, so I was a bit apprehensive at first. Especially because I was supposed to be the only woman in the group for the second part of the trip. But that turned out to be completely unfounded: the group was super friendly, fun and relaxed, and I felt totally at ease right from the start. Timo is an incredibly likeable and empathetic organizer. Even before the trip, he provided us with all the important information, a packing list and lots of tips on entering the country, vaccinations, money, etc., which made preparation much easier. During the trip, everything was perfectly organized - accommodation, transport, activities - and at the same time there was always enough flexibility for spontaneous activities. I found it particularly thoughtful that Timo booked me single rooms on the last part of the trip, where I was the only woman, as a matter of course. So to all women who might still be thinking: Dare! I felt safe the whole time, made lots of unforgettable memories and made new friends. I can recommend Timo's trips without reservation - you really couldn't have done it any better! ❤️

Perfect mixture of city exploring, islands hopping and chilling in the northern parts of the country. Everything was well organised and prepared, from accomodation which btw was very nice and cozy, to the transport and all activities. There was no pressure at all, everything was done in enjoyable pace. Timo is great and funny guy, he knows Thailand pretty well and did his best to make us have a great time. The group was amazing, very kind and funny people. Looking forward for new trips and adventures together!

The trip was simply amazing, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone considering their first backpacking adventure. I came home with so many unforgettable memories. Timo provided all the necessary information to make sure we were perfectly prepared. On the Trip, he had planned activities that kept things exciting and engaging, but he also left enough free time for personal exploration—a perfect balance between structure and freedom. The group itself was fantastic. Every single person was kind, open, and fun to be around. I genuinely hope to see many of them again in the future. As for Timo, he’s not only an excellent guide but also just a great person to spend time with—whether exploring new places, relaxing together, or enjoying a night out. He made sure everyone felt included, cared for, and part of the group.
