What my travel buddies say
The sailing trip was a truly special and enriching experience for me. I had the chance to take in many new sights, discover beautiful places, and experience sailing firsthand. I especially remember the adventures in the bays, like swimming at dawn to Voidokilia Beach followed by the rocky climb up to Palaiókastro, where we watched the sunrise. Night sailing during the Perseid meteor shower was also magical. Night swimming with the string of lights was particularly fun. I got to enjoy many beautiful sunrises from the boat’s deck. Snorkeling and exploring the caves near Antipaxos was also wonderful. It was great that I was able to actively help out, from steering the boat to assisting with the rigging. This made my interest in sailing grow even more. A special highlight were the moments when the skipper sang sea shanties; together with the crew, this created an epic atmosphere on board. However, there were also moments that were challenging for me at first. Since I had no sailing experience, I felt a bit left out and useless at the beginning, while the experienced fellow travelers were already actively involved. It wasn’t until after an in-depth conversation with the skipper that I felt like I was truly part of the crew; from then on, it was exciting and enriching for me as well. Additionally, we unfortunately couldn’t visit all the planned stops, and there was an unscheduled 25-hour voyage involving night sailing. For the future, I would like to see a slightly better flow of information, such as a brief morning meeting to discuss the day’s schedule and who is taking on which tasks, as well as a group feedback session in the evening. This would not only make organization easier but also further strengthen the sense of community. Nevertheless, the positives outweigh the negatives for me: I learned an incredible amount, collected wonderful memories, and discovered a new passion for sailing. I would definitely travel with the Freespirit again, preferably with Moritz on board, whom some fellow travelers from previous trips already knew and whose personality and manner they praised highly. Next time, I would definitely bring a few of my friends along, with whom I would love to share the experiences.
Peloponnese Sailing Trip: Explore Greece's Rich History by Sea
The trip was a dream. We went to beautiful places, the crew was amazing, and it was a lot of fun. You also had to help out on the boat, which was a great way to learn. I’d do it again anytime.

Great idea, but poorly executed. This was my fourth sailing trip, but my first on Moritz’s boat—and it will be my last. The concept of the trip was nice, but the boat had several technical issues and is generally in poor condition, so we often got stuck and couldn’t stick to the itinerary. The skipper, Ronan, was sometimes unnecessarily brusque and seemed overwhelmed, and unfortunately, no compensation was offered afterward. Anyone booking should ask very specifically about the boat’s condition beforehand—or be smart and book with JTC or sailwithus, where this kind of thing doesn’t happen. For us, it was unfortunately not a positive experience.
Adventure Awaits: Sailing the Cyclades Islands in Greece!
It was a great trip!

It was my first sailing trip and met some lovely people during the trip. It was a wonderful trip being on the sail boat for me. Moritz (organiser) was very communicative about the trip since the booking. Something that could be improved is to have a people friendly skipper who can make the trip much more enjoyable experience for the crew.

I absolutely Love my trip due to the awesome bunch of people, the organisation and the places we visited. Of course I learned a lot about sailing which I really enjoyed although the female skipper practiced very dictatorship style and seemed to love sailing but not so much people. The previous skipper which is the owner it much be fabulous because I heard a lot and only positive stuff, people like n my trip adore him as they sailed with him a number of times and few people come to this trip few times already. I’m planning to join this trip again in few weeks time and would love to meet Moritz because of awesome things I heard about him.

While Moritz was not here for the trip (except the first morning), Elisa did a great job as a skipper. She explained everything very well, and having no experience in sailing was not a problem at all. Unfortunately we did not have that much wind, but we got lucky and saw some dolphins, a turtle and even a monk seal during our trip. I really enjoyed the trip, all of the crew got along very well and I am considering going again.

I had the time of my life on Moritz’s sailboat Free Spirit — a name that truly lived up to its promise. One week of freedom on the water, with a mix of sailing adventures, hikes, deep conversations with wonderful people, and just letting my soul unwind while gaining hands-on sailing experience. His inspiring skipper Elisa did an incredible job — super organized and always in control of everything and everyone, without ever being bossy. It was the perfect balance between letting go of responsibility and immediately feeling like part of a crew where everyone pitches in. Thank you for this unforgettable time — I can’t recommend it enough!

This trip was incredible and was one of the best weeks of my life. Our skipper Elisa was young, passionate, great fun and gave us the choice to personalise the trip depending on what we wanted from it. The rest of the crew were all so interesting, fun and very lovely people with a range of ages from 20 to 50 - some of them friends for life. I'd recommend this to anyone who is open minded and seeking a new adventure, or someone who wants to do some sailing and meet some new people. I'll be thinking about this trip for many years to come and it is my new benchmark for the best short trip I've been on. Thank you so much for everything!

Truly recommend this sailing experience to anyone!! Our skipper, Elisa, was just AMAZING. She though us many things about sailing (her experience is impressive:) and took to beautiful places. Everything was well organised yet felt natural and relaxed. It was my first time sailing, but after this trip, I’ll definitely try more. Thank you Moritz for creating such a memorable experience!

The sailing trip was incredibly well-organized from start to finish. Our trip leader was absolutely fantastic communicative, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient with the crew with zero sailing experience (which included me, a total beginner). Despite my inexperience, we were able to work together as a team and learn the basics of sailing, and even had the chance to try being co-captain, steering the boat, and working with the sails. It was an empowering and fun experience! We had an amazing time on the boat, sharing laughs and making lifelong memories. One of the highlights was exploring beautiful, hidden beaches and bays. We even got to visit nearby historical sites, like an old fortress and a lighthouse, which made the trip even more special. But the absolute best moment? Watching the sunset from the boat, far out at sea, away from the coastline. It was a breathtaking experience, something you really have to see for yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdZirfFZcyQ&ab_channel=Dodo
