Hello everyone, here's Roberta, Italian wanderluster of 33, living in Canary Islands! After been travelling as much as I could during my holidays and days off, and lived in 3 different countries (Italy, France and UK), I settled in Gran Canaria where I founded my own platform who helps people with their first solo travel: "My Friend in". I've been a free spirit since I was a teenager and I've always been looking for a way to escape from the 9-5 (there's nothing bad in it, but I wanted to be free to travel whenever I wanted, connect with new people and cultures, and work from wherever I wanted). So here I am, willing to connect with new fellow travellers and amazing people 🥰

Roberta is a very caring person. However, there were two of her friends on my trip, so it was more of a girl trip between them. Unfortunately, communication was not really in English, but in Spanish (although two participants only spoke English and not Spanish). We were usually not even told what was coming up next. Spontaneous changes were always discussed in Spanish and we were presented with a fait accompli. Our own wishes were less considered and implemented. I believe that a trip with Roberta can be wonderful, but not if you already have friends/acquaintances with you. Unfortunately, that was the main negative aspect of the trip. Otherwise, the trip was carefully planned and the activities were great. However, the tour guide here could be improved or it was an unfortunate trip.

Roberta is very well organised, very open and flexibel to change plans if needed and such a kind person! Especially in Gran Canaria she is very well connected and knows the island like the back of her hand. This was my first JMT trip with only the trip leader and me as someone cancelled shortly before. So I first had some concerns but quickly noticed that there was no reason for that :) I had an amazing time and absolutely recommend travelling with Roberta!
