About me

My name is Tatjana, and I am a tour guide based in Podgorica, Montenegro. For me, guiding is not just about showing places, it’s about telling stories, building human connections, and bringing destinations to life through history, culture, and authentic local experience. Whether I’m leading a walk through Montenegro’s wild landscapes, exploring old town alleys across the Balkans, or tracing history through European cities, my purpose remains the same: to create personalized, meaningful, and unforgettable journeys for every traveler I guide. My mission is to turn travel into a genuine human experience. I offer pre-designed tours for small groups, tailored to match the pace, interests, and energy of the people I travel with, because meaningful experiences require time, attention, and a personal touch. While most agency tours feel rushed and impersonal, I approach tours differently by slowing down, engaging with the place, and really enjoying the moment. I believe the most valuable discoveries are not found in tourist checklists - they are found in local voices, quiet corners, traditional food, and stories hidden within every stone and window.

In a previous chapter of my life, I worked for large telecommunications companies—fast-paced, structured, and demanding. Over time, the constant pressure wore me down. I gave a lot, but lost even more: time, energy, and that spark that makes work feel meaningful. Later, I switched to remote work, thinking it would offer more freedom. I imagined working from different places, taking my laptop wherever I wanted. But reality had a different plan. The job kept me inside, at home, tied to a screen. The salary didn’t allow for real flexibility, and instead of gaining freedom, I lost connection with people, the outside world, and even myself. That’s when I made a different choice.
From Burnout to Bliss: How I Turned My Passion into PodgoricaGuide I decided to create a life that reflects who I truly am. To create a rhythm that suits me. To keep doing what I love: communicating, guiding, teaching, learning—on my own terms. I became a freelancer—my own boss, my own rhythm. I chose to spend more time outdoors and some time in quiet moments preparing tours from the comfort of my home. I wanted to keep admiring my country and to share that admiration with others. I wanted to travel where my heart leads me, and still do the work that fulfills me. And that’s how PodgoricaGuide came to life. A small passion project turned into a meaningful brand, named after the city I love deeply. The city where I was born. A place I left a few times, but always found my way back to. Only in recent years did I truly begin to appreciate its beauty, its quirks, its soul. Now, Podgorica is my base. It’s where my tours begin, where my stories are rooted, and where my journey as a guide became personal. Through PodgoricaGuide, I’ve created more than an idea; I’ve created a way of life. One where every walk is a chance to share a story, every tour a meaningful encounter. If you’re someone who wants to go beyond the surface, who wants to feel a place, not just see it—maybe our paths should cross. Come walk with me. Let’s discover stories that don’t live in guidebooks.
My favorite country? That’s easy—Montenegro. It’s not just my home; it’s my inspiration, my daily backdrop, and my constant reminder of how beautiful life can be. But I do dream of discovering more places. I’d love to find a second favorite country—somewhere that makes my heart feel at home again, just like Montenegro does.
I travel because it keeps me curious, grounded, and inspired. Travel allows me to connect with others on a deeper level, whether I’m leading tours in my home country or exploring new ones abroad. It feeds both my love for history and my love for people. I don’t travel to escape; I travel to expand, to grow, to bring back something meaningful to those I guide. And the best part? I can keep doing what I love no matter where I am in the world.
