In honor of the end of the year 2020, we decided to host our very 1st Annual JoinMyTrip Recap & Awards! We invited you, the JoinMyTrip community to join us on the 21st of January 2021, where we recapped everything that we accomplished in the year 2020. What our future plans for the year 2021 are, announcing JoinMyTrip awards, Q&A session with our CEO Niels, and lastly, we planned a huge giveaway for the participants.
For those who were not able to attend the eventful evening, don’t fret. We recorded the whole evening for anyone who would be interested in learning more about JoinMyTrip’s plans moving forward. Including being able to meet all the different personalities working for JoinMyTrip… Yes, there are actual people behind your screens!

JoinMyTrip Travel insurance
On November 19th we launched our JoinMyTrip travel insurance powered by Allianz Travel. Every German and Austrian resident is now automatically insured when traveling with JoinMyTrip free of charge!
YouTube shows
The JoinMyTrip team has been very busy producing different types of content, one of them being creating various videos on YouTube to help you on your travels.
JoinMyTrip Travel podcast
We launched our travel podcast! In the year 2020, we created 5 different podcast shows that you can freely listen to: JoinMyTrip Travel podcast, Travel News Bites with Alex, Remote Coworking with Anna, Travel Tips with Jasmine, and Travel essentials with Flori.

Secure payments
TripMates no longer have to wait, they now have the option to choose to pay themselves without waiting for the TripLeader’s request. When paying, TripMates also gets the option to choose between paying the full amount at once or paying 20% as the deposit.
Coworking trips
Thanks to the pandemic, we discovered the concept of offering coworking trips on our platform. Remote professionals now have the option to work remotely abroad with like-minded professionals and share costs.
Reviews
The most exciting new feature that we released is our reviews! TripMates can now write reviews for the trips they have been on and rate their TripLeaders.
