Tokyo

Day 1-5
Day 1: Arrive in Tokyo Tokyo, a metropolis like no other in the world! Begin the day with a visit to the Meiji-jingu, Tokyo’s most important shrine. Meander around the Imperial Palace grounds, where their Majesties the Emperor and Empress reside. The palace, surrounded by a water-filled moat with tree-covered grounds. Next we will be heading to the biggest fish market. Then end the day with a visit to Koishikawa Korakuen, one of Tokyo's oldest and best Japanese gardens. And optional, continue on to Akihabara, Tokyo's electronics paradise.

Tokyo

Day 5
Day 2: Tokyo Start Day 2 with a visit to the Tsukiji Market Tuna Auction. This will be followed by a fresh sushi breakfast inside the market; Learn about sushi-making and Trying some of its street foods as we explore the market A short distance from Tsukiji lies Hamarikyu Garden, a vista of delicately shaped pine trees and tea houses. Head to the Asakusa district and Senso-ji Temple, in the very heart of Shitamachi, Tokyo's old merchant district. Asakusa remains Tokyo's most colorful and traditional neighborhood, with a fun atmosphere and many food stalls preparing senbei, traditional and delicious rice crackers, and many varieties of Japanese sweets.

Tokyo

Day 5
Day 3: Tokyo We head to the countryside to see an entirely different side of Japan—including our New World Wonder, the Tohoku region, one of the best spots in the country for cherry blossoms. In rural Iwate Prefecture, stay overnight in a traditional ryokan surrounded by lush primeval forest and spend time in a preserved Edo-period village. Plus: After a hike at the Geibikei Gorge, unwind at Shobo-ji, a temple that doubles as a Zen training center, where you’ll have a private meditation session with a resident monk - See Tokyo from the water on a Sumida River cruise - Stroll in the peace of Tokyo's Hamarikyu Gardens - Step inside samurai era history at Osaka Castle Day 4: Tokyo Visit Tokyo Disneyland

Kyoto

Day 5-6
Day 5: Transfer to Kyoto; Temples, Drums & Geisha! Transfer to Kyoto by shinkansen or bullet train (2 hours and 40 min). Private temple visit, where the head Abbot will teach you a bit about Japanese Buddhism. Musically gifted or not, you will then be taken to your private taiko drumming lesson. Stroll through the Shijo-Kawaramachi District and its traditional shops selling local foods and crafts. Our walk will end at Yasaka Shrine, located at the epicenter of Gion, the city's Geisha district and considered to be one of the most delightful downtown areas in Japan.

Kyoto

Day 6
Day 6: Bamboo Forest Wake early and enjoy a peaceful jiurikisha ride through a deep bamboo forest before a locally-prepared breakfast. Then head to Kinkakuji (the Golden Pavilion and one of the city’s UNESCO sites. Exploring Nishiki-koji Market, often referred to as 'Kyoto's Kitchen' where hundreds of vendors have their stalls selling colorful foods and goods. Taste special Japanese delicacies, vegetables, fresh fish, dry goods, pickles, and sweets. Explore Okochi Sanso Villa, the former villa of the popular actor Okochi Denjiro with several beautiful gardens.

Nara

Day 6-9
Day 7: Transfer to Akame, enjoy hiking in Akame, a beautiful and forested area with 48 waterfalls. Sasayuri-Ann offers some really fun and special experiences in an intimate setting, including private yoga lessons, farming and local fruit picking excursions, music workshops, guided hikes, and a nighttime fire ceremony.

Day 9
Day 8: Heading to Kasuga Taisha Lanterns home to no less than eight UNESCO heritage sites, including several of the world’s largest wooden buildings, strolling the grounds in traditional Japanese dress, available from several local shops End the day with a visit to Nara’s deer park, the stomping grounds for over 1200 friendly deer that will happily eat right from your hands.
