Guided trip
Short trip for those that want to combine cultural highlights with visits to Ista-worthy locations, visiting Valletta, Mdina and exploring Gozo by Tuk Tuk! We will walk through Valletta, discovering the influences of the Knights of St John and the impact their decision of building Valletta has had on the history of this Island. In Mdina we are transported back to almost medieval times; luckily most of this little town survived the earthquake in 1693, but the rebuilding has led to this very interesting mix of different styles of architecture, easily visible when walking through the little cobblestone streets. Outside of Mdina the 'suburb' of Rabat await our visit - and so is the most popular pastizzi shop where we will hit up some local snacks before diving deeper in history from over 2000 years ago. No stop can be ignored along the south coast of Malta along the Dingli Cliffs - a place where the most amazing sunsets take place. On our last full day, we will discover the much more tranquil, relaxing Island of Gozo. A place where life stood still - a lot of sheep and goats can still be found on roads when moving from one location to another. On the way back to Malta, if the weather allows, we will try to hit up the Blue or Crystal Lagoon. Take care - you might get wet! :) ... * Flights not included * Sometimes things don't go as planned, so we may need to juggle days around. What is included? - 4 nights in a shared TWIN room in a 4* hotel (DBL or SGL rooms on request) - Breakfast & Dinner at the hotel each evening (incl glass of wine and water // Dinner may be Set Menu or Buffet) - Arrival & Departure Transfers Airport-Hotel-Airport - Welcome Drink & Nibbles during the first evening - Valletta Tour including Light Lunch (with 1/2 bottle of local wine & water per person) - Mdina & Rabat Tour including Food Tour & entrance to the Catacombs - Gozo Tour with chauffeur driven Tuk Tuks - Wine & Food Tasting in Gozo About myself: I am Trixie! After working for others for 25 years, I decided to branch out on my own earlier this year. My interests and experiences lie in creating travel experiences for others, so this time round it's great that I can create and design itineraries that I can join in myself. See you in Malta!

Mellieħa

Day 1-2
I will wait for you at the airport and depending on the arrival timings of everybody we either wait for each other or you will have an individual transfer to your hotel. Accommodation will be in a 4* hotel in the North of the Island and based on sharing TWIN rooms unless you specifically want a DBL room or SGL room (reach out to me). The hotel has a Spa, Indoor Pool for those who want to chill out in the evening. There is also a small Fitness if anyone feels like getting up early and get adrenaline flowing. Today we will keep it at leisure to ensure nobody misses out on any part of the program. Welcome drink at the hotel in the evening before having dinner together.
2

Valletta

Day 2-3
We head over to Valletta for a walking tour of the City (Take comfortable shoes, as the cobbled and steep streets of Valletta are a killer for heels and lazy feet). Valletta has a rich history and culture that dates to the 16th century, when it was founded by the Knights of St. John (Yes! Real Knights!). Despite its turbulent past, Valletta has become a small vibrant cosmopolitan city, known for its architecture, cultural heritage, and amazing (historical) scenery. The harbors and public gardens make it a perfect place to escape the daily hustle and bustle and take in the atmosphere. The city is home to a lively arts and culture scene, with numerous festivals, exhibitions, and performances taking place throughout the year. From jazz and classical music concerts to contemporary art exhibitions and theatrical performances, there is always something happening in Valletta. Light Lunch included with 1/2 bottle of wine and water per person. (Veggies, Vegans, GF's raise your hand please). The beautiful St John’s Cathedral is not included, but in the afternoon, we will have time for own leisure so that you can head out on your own. The ones that are not that interested in churches can stroll through the winding streets or have a coffee and see the world pass by from a terrace before we head back to the hotel and have dinner there.
3

Mdina

Day 3-4
Mdina is the old capital of Malta and often referred to as "The Silent City" due to its peaceful atmosphere and lack of cars. Mdina has an eclectic Baroque, Norman architecture, rich history (think Napoleon), and charming atmosphere. It lived through the Phoenician era, the Romans and the Arab rule in the 9th century. The city was subsequently conquered by the Normans, who built many of the city's most iconic buildings, including the Cathedral of Saint Paul. The city's narrow streets are lined with beautiful stone buildings, some of which have intricately carved balconies and ornate doorways. It’s often used as the backdrop of Hollywood blockbusters like Midnight Express, World War Z and The Count of Monte Christo. No stop in Mdina is complete without a visit to the best cake place of the Island, called Fontanella! You just have to have the Chocolate Fudge Cake - yes, you will have chocolate all over your face :) A cup of Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate and slice of cake is included in the visit. In Rabat, we will discover the local pastizzi (flaky pastries filled with ricotta cheese or peas) and Ftira (a traditional Maltese bread) and before heading to the St Paul's Catacombs, the Cliffs of Dingli and the fascinating and mysterious Cart ruts. A series of tracks or grooves that can be found in the rock formations throughout Malta and are believed to have been created by ancient civilizations, although their existence and age are still a matter of heated debate among archaeologists and historians. At the end of the day, we go back to the hotel for dinner.
4

Gozo

Day 4-5
Gozo is the sister island, located north of the main island of Malta. Despite its small size, Gozo is known for its stunning natural beauty, including rugged coastlines, rolling hills, and crystal-clear waters. The island is also home to several historical sites and landmarks, including the fortified Citadel of Victoria. We will head out and zoom around the Island with Tuk Tuks visiting landmarks and villages such as the Sannap Cliffs, Xlendi Bay, Fungus Rock, the island’s capital of Victoria, and much more. Around midday, we visit a local micro vineyard where we will taste a couple of their wines, enjoy a traditional farmers' cheese platter and taste as well some of their homemade food items. Weather permitting, we will take a motorboat ride past the famous Blue Lagoon on the way back to the hotel. Evening open for own leisure – We can head into Valletta for the last evening, but we can agree on that whilst in destination as some might have a very early flight back home in the morning.
5

Malta International Airport

Day 5
Departure Day (Nooooo! 😊) Depending on everybody’s flight details, we will try to have a relaxing breakfast together before checking out and heading to the airport. Should everybody depart in the afternoon, we can check out, take our luggage with us on a mini-bus we can book and head to Marsaxlokk, the traditional fishing village of Malta before finding our way back to the airport. Maybe a good time to take a group picture as a final memory!
