Sri Lanka is considered a paradise for vacationers. This paradise I also want to have a look. In addition to the culture and nature, I would like to see especially the snorkeling spots and start my first surfing attempts. Whoever wants to explore this beautiful island together with me is of course invited :). The planning is not yet 100% sure, so it can still be changed and adapted. I have adjusted the route according to the monsoon seasons, so the direction should remain the same.

Since the airport is located here, we spend the first day in Colombo. Since we will arrive here again at the end of our trip, we still have enough time to have a closer look at this place.

Hikkaduwa
Day 2-5
Hikkaduwa is a seaside resort with great beaches and is home to sea turtles. There is also a coral sanctuary here, which will make diving a great experience. Since the southwest is in the monsoon area in September, we will still decide together exactly how long we want to stay here.

Tangalle
Day 5-7
Tangalle is a small fishing village where you can come to rest and have the opportunity to explore the Yala National Park. The place itself is relatively small, therefore only 2 days are scheduled for this.

Arugam Bay
Day 7-12
I am personally looking forward to this place in particular. The beaches here are said to be among the most beautiful beaches in all of Sri Lanka. Besides snorkeling and surfing, you can supposedly also watch whales and dolphins here. From here it would also be possible to make a day trip to the core of the island. Of course, no one is forced to lie on the beach every day.

Uppuveli
Day 12-15
The actual destination on this day will be the town of Trincomalee, but it is recommended to book the accommodations in Uppuveli. From here we will visit several Hindu temples. Whale watching is also advertised here, but what exactly you want to do, you can decide on the spot in the group.

Nilaveli
Day 15-16
Here, too, we will be able to decide quite spontaneously what we feel like doing. Whether activities on the water or on land, all options are open to us.

Marawila
Day 16-19
So that we have also seen something of the west of the island, we go to Marawila. A special feature of diving here are the many wrecks that can be found in the water. It is the penultimate place of our trip, so it would be time to equip ourselves with souvenirs ;).

Colombo
Day 19-21
This is where our journey ends. How we want to spend the last days on Sri Lanka is entirely up to us. Relax again, enjoy the cuisine or something completely different, suggestions are always welcome.
