Trip Itinerary

Marrakesch
Day 1-3
Day of arrival! Depending on everyone's arrival time, we can plan some extra activities. I can help you to arrange airport pickup, or you can take a bus to the city. We will meet at our accommodation, which will be a riad in the old center of Marrakech. What's a riad? It is a typical house with multiple stories centered around an open-air courtyard. We will have a rooftop as well. The term comes from the Arab word 'ryad' (meaning 'garden'). In the evening we will have some traditional dinner together, get to know each other and discuss our plan for the week.

Marrakesch
Day 3-4
The next day, we will explore Marrakech together! There is a lot to see, and I will show you around. In the morning, before the crowds come, we will visit the El-Badi Palace together. Afterwards, we will walk through the tiny streets of the Souk (market) where we can buy souvenirs, spices and clothes. Part of the Moroccan culture is to negotiate prices, and we will do so as well. Get yourself a scarf to wear in the desert, the Bedouins wear it as a protection from sun and sand.

Essaouira
Day 4-5
We will go for a day trip to the coast and visit the city Essaouira. This place is way calmer than Marrakech and definitely worth a visit! We will explore the town and spend some time at the beach together. On the way we will also stop at a local argan oil production and see something very unusual - goats on trees!

Aït-Ben-Haddou
Day 5-6
On our way to the desert we will have a few stops, for example we will visit the famous town Ait-Ben-Haddou where they filmed movies like Prince of Persia or Game of Thrones. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, Aït Benhaddou was once a major stop along the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara.

Zagora
Day 6-7
In the late afternoon we will arrive close to the desert where we will take camels to ride to our desert camp. We will have some time to enjoy the sunset, having dinner and spending the evening around the fire with some music. The next day, we will wake up early and head back home to Marrakech.

Ourika waterfalls
Day 7-8
Ourika Valley is located around 40 km from Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains. Instead of an organized tour, we will travel there like the locals and take a small bus for about an hour. There we will hike to see the famous waterfalls and enjoy an amazing view. If we are lucky, we can even see berber monkeys there.

Marrakesch
Day 8
In the morning, you can decide what you want to do - we can go to see Anima (André Heller Garden) or treat yourself and go to a Moroccan hammam! In the afternoon, we will have a quad tour! The tour is for beginners, and you don't need a driving license. After about 3 hours, we will be back home and can spend our last evening together. The next day is scheduled for departure, and we will have to check out of our accommodation. However, if your flight home is late, I can give you some recommendations for additional activities.
