What's special?
special Museum of Polish vodka + tasting!
special Beer pong and more in Warsaw!
special Stained glass craft workshop in Cracow!
November is not considered the most beautiful month in Poland. In Warsaw, which lies close to the eastern border, even frosty evenings can happen! However, we have our ways. Warming, homemade Polish cuisine, mulled wine, craft beer, and even tea "with electricity" - with the addition of vodka... This trip is an example of what I am looking for when traveling - a bit of local cuisine and tasting, city walks, selected museums, and local crafts workshops. There will also be time for evening gossip, philosophies, and fun. We will have fun as befits kings, in two royal cities and capitals - Krakow and Warsaw!

My name is Justine (Justyna) and I'm from Poland. I am a solopreneur who is involved in various activities of non-governmental organizations and private businesses. My fascination started with the Master's degree thesis "Potential of tourism in solving conflicts" and has been growing, developing, and reshaping ever since. Now it's a part of my business activity. I identify myself as a feminist, lesbian, and anti-racist. The highest value of mine is courage. My role model in the area of leadership is Brene Brown and it is what she says about courage that best reflects what I try to follow every day. “Integrity is choosing courage over comfort” and “When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to write the ending”. As a historic freak, I don't believe in objectivity but in many stories. I also believe that many times unlearning and relearning patterns are more valuable than learning new things.

Accommodation in hostels (shared bathrooms, mixed dorms) near the center of the cities. After we will gather all the great travelers willing to get to know Poland better, I will send the contact information to a specific hostel. Krakow and Warsaw abound in many great places awarded by international associations!

Warsaw

Day 1-2
On the first day we will meet at the old market square in Warsaw, which, contrary to appearances, is not that old at all. As a result of the Uprising in 1944, Warsaw was razed to the ground and what you can see around today is the so-called "virtual monuments", rebuilt from the rubble in the last century. But that doesn't take away from their beauty! On this day, it is optional to visit the Museum of the History of Jews POLIN - an amazing exhibition presenting in an interactive, but also engaging and exhausting way, several thousand years of the history of the people who left their mark on the Polish collective identity. In the evening we will meet in the very center of Warsaw to taste the night life of the capital! Beer pong, minigolf session and colorful cocktails - let's have fun!

Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów

It is one of Poland's most important monuments. The palace's museum, established in 1805 (!!!), is a repository of the country's royal and artistic heritage and receives around 3 million visitors annually (2019), making it one of the most visited palaces and monuments in the world. Check out why!

Muzeum Polskiej Wódki

Day 2-3
Something for connoisseurs and something that will not be found in the average tour program! The Polish Vodka Museum is the only such place in the world. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the complex of neo-Gothic buildings forming the Warsaw vodka factory “Koneser” and it was built between Ząbkowska, Nieporecka, Białostocka and Markowska streets. The flagship brands of Polish vodkas, such as Luksusowa and Wyborowa, were spread here. Before noon, we will check out of the hostel, pack on the train and set off towards Krakow, one of the most perfectly preserved old cities in all Europe. Here we will meet a certified guide who will show us the alleys of one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Kraków's historic centre, which includes the Old Town, Kazimierz district and the Wawel Castle, was included as the first of its kind on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1978. Stained Glass Workshop and Museum

Day 4-5
Today we can spend on an individual exploration of Krakow or go together to one of the dozens of brilliant museums: Krakow's Underground Market, Wawel Castle, National Museum... In the afternoon we will go to an unusual workshop at the Stained Glass Museum. Krakow is a city connected with stained-glass art for centuries. Dozens of outstanding works of art decorate both the most magnificent historical buildings of the city and residential as well as public buildings, especially those in the art nouveau and art deco style. In the urban space, one may find wonderful glazing even in inconspicuous-looking tenement houses. Not surprisingly, Krakow’s stained-glass windows include hundreds of objects made by our workshop. The Stained Glass Museum offers not only guided tours, but also direct experience of creating your own stained glass artwork. The intensive two hours of working with original stained glass under the guidance of an experienced artist is an experience not to be forgotten!

Wieliczka Salt Mine

Day 5-6
After breakfast and a lazy coffee somewhere in the Old Market Square in Krakow (necessarily eaten with a Krakow obwarzanek!) We will take a bus that will take us to Wieliczka - to the former royal salt mine. The Wieliczka salt mine, excavated from the 13th century, produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world's oldest operating salt mines. Throughout its history, the royal salt mine was operated by the Żupy Krakowskie (Kraków Salt Mines) company. The Wieliczka Salt Mine is now an official Polish Historic Monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its attractions include the shafts and labyrinthine passageways, displays of historic salt-mining technology, an underground lake, four chapels and numerous statues carved by miners out of the rock salt, and more recent sculptures by contemporary artists. Note, prepare warm clothes!
