Samut Songkhram

Day 1-2
Samut Songkhram, a tiny province in Thailand on the Gulf of Thailand, has been referred to as "a small cultural gem in the middle of Thailand." There are numerous well-known tourist sites nearby, including Amphawa Evening Floating Market, Talat Rom Hup (Risky Market), and Bang Kung Camp/Prok Bodhi Ubosot. 12:00 Meet up at the place we will be staying. 13:00 Lunch to break the ice! We will taste the majority of popular Thai meals (including, of course, Tom Yum Kung, and I'll introduce you to all the local favorites!). And eat in the traditional Thai manner (sharing), which fosters strong relationships. 14:00 We will go to Talat Rom Hup (Risky Market), which is situated by the side of the Mae Klong Railway Station and is about 100 meters long. The vendors sell their products on the ground close to the railroad. When the train comes, they will instantly pull down the umbrella and put their products away. This exciting and strange behavior has become famous, which is why it is called Talat Rom Hup (pulling down the umbrella market). 15:00 Don Hoi Lot is waiting for us, a sandbar at the Mae Klong Estuary derived from the deposit of loam. It is a habitat for various kinds of shellfish, such as razor shell, baby clam, ridged Venus clam, lampshell, and blood clam. Since razor shells are mostly found in this area, the place is called Don Hoi Lot (razor shell sandbar). If the water is not too deep at that time, we can rent a boat to catch razor shells, which is usually done when the tide recedes, by using a small stick dipped in lime to pierce into a hole where they live. 16:30 The highlight of the day, Amphawa Evening Floating Market! Khlong Amphawa is crowded with canal vendors selling food and beverages; for example, fried mussels (Hoi Thot), noodles, coffee, black coffee, and a variety of sweets. On both sides of the Riverbank are vendors selling products on the cars. The atmosphere is relaxing with music from the community’s broadcast. Visitors can rent a Boat for sightseeing fireflies in the twilight. We will have a nighttime boat trip and dinner together at Amphawa before going back to the hotel. 20:00 Going back to the hotel, or continue going out for a bar (all up to everyone!)

Make sure to pair your noodles with a fresh herbal drink that also comes in a tiny water jar. This is a must-try restaurant in Ratchaburi! 13:00 Clay pot molding and painting workshop - Ratchaburi is well known for its dragon jars because of the high quality of the local clay. And you'll get the chance to shape and decorate a clay pot on your own! 16:00 Wat Mahathat Worawihan, one of the most prominent and ancient temples in the city. It is believed that this temple was built in the Dvaravati Period, around the 10th - 11th century, nearly the same time as when the old city of Ratchaburi was built. 18:00 Street food tasting at Sanam Ya Market Ratchaburi’s night market offers a large variety of yummy food and desserts. One of the people’s favorite stalls is Pang Gon Thong, which serves delicious stuffed buns that are satisfyingly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. All meals at the market are budget-friendly, and the market is the best place in town to grab a late-night meal. 20:00 Going back to the hotel, or continue going out for a bar (all up to everyone!)
