⭐Are you short on time but want to see everything South Vietnam has to offer? ⭐ ⭐Do you want to make the most of your time in Ho Chi Minh City but not you're sure where to start? ⭐ ⭐Do you want to learn about Vietnamese history and culture, as well as exploring the incredible nature of the Mekong Delta region and to relax on sandy beaches?⭐ The this is the trip for you! I’m Amy, and I’ve been lucky enough to call Ho Chi Minh City home for the past four years. As an avid traveller, I’ve spent most of this time seeking out the best destinations, hotels and restaurants that Vietnam has to offer, and I’d love to share these finds with new friends! As a destination Vietnam can be overwhelming at first, nowhere more so than the energetic and bustling metropolis that is Ho Chi Minh City. Unfortunately, most visitors don’t stay long enough to truly get to grips with this wonderful city – which is where I come in! As well as the main sights, I’ll show you all my favourite haunts, and parts of the city that most visitors don’t get to see. We’ll have local guides for parts of our tour, who will be able to introduce you to their city and the local culture. And I’ll also help you to easily and comfortably explore the incredible natural beauty of the Mekong Delta region, as well as relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Mui Ne to round off your Southern Vietnam adventure.

Given the short timescales and the amount of things there are to see, the trip will be relatively active but I'll also make sure we have time to rest. All group dinners are optional, depending on whether you feel like socialising or whether your social battery needs recharging. I'll try and include a variety of food stops but there will always be vegetarian options. If you have any questions at all, please just drop me a line and I'm always happy to chat! *If you’re interested in this trip, but the dates don’t work for you, please message me directly as I can be flexible with dates!*

Accommodation 🏨 We’ll stay in three and four-star hotels. Everyone will have their own en-suite room, unless you’re travelling in a pair and would like to share. (In this case please just let me know and I can arrange this and reduce the cost!). Whilst I’ve stayed in many hostels, tents, yurts and on countless sofas and makeshift beds over the years, my travel style nowadays is comfortable, great value and with a little bit of luxury thrown in.😊 Weather 🌞 April is one of the best months to explore Southern Vietnam, as the rainy season hasn't gotten going yet - but beware it will be starting to get hotter! There will also be a chance of showers (although rain showers don't last long here) so make sure you pack accordingly! Transport 🚌 We’ll travel in private air-conditioned vehicles (with a local driver), on motorcycles (with a local driver) and by speedboat.

Ho Chi Minh City

Day 1-2

Xin chao! Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City! Formerly called Saigon (which is often still used by locals), this vibrant city is described as the “Pearl of the Far East” due to it's charming heritage buildings, dynamic, vibrant, exciting atmosphere and friendly people. If you're arriving in Ho Chi Minh City today, your tour includes transfers from the airport or train station to our hotel. Or if you're already in the city, we can arrange a time to meet at the hotel. We won't have any activities planned for today, but I can make recommendations if you arrive early and would like to start exploring straight away. Optional group dinner to meet and get to know your fellow travellers - or you if you prefer you can just catch up on some sleep before we start our adventure!

Ho Chi Minh City

Day 2-3

Breakfast included at hotel. This morning we'll delve into Vietnamese history with a visit to the War Remnants Museum, for an informative and moving account of Ho Chi Minh City's past. We'll also visit Ben Thanh Market for those all important souvenirs and of course, stop for lunch. The afternoon will be free for you to relax or explore the city at your own pace. In the evening we'll hop on to our motorbikes (safely driven by experienced local drivers!) for a night tour to explore the hidden alleys of old Saigon and of course, try some authentic southern Vietnamese street food (dinner included).

Bến Tre

Day 3-4

Today we'll set off early for a full day tour into the Mekong Delta region with our local Vietnamese guide. Travelling by boat, we'll reach the idyllic watery expanses of the Mekong Delta itself, known as the Delta of Nine Dragons for the 9 tributaries that splinter from the main Mekong River. Our tour will include: ⭐Breakfast on the river ⭐A visit to a traditional rural Vietnamese house ⭐Vietnamese whiskey tasting ⭐A visit to a very special and unique pagoda. ⭐Lunch included with a local family. We will return to our hotel in Ho Chi Minh City at around 4pm, after which the evening is yours to relax or explore as you choose! Optional group dinner and cocktails.

Mũi Né

Day 4-5

Breakfast included at hotel. Today after breakfast we'll set off on the newly opened expressway to Mui Ne in our private air conditioned vehicle. Mui Ne is well-known for its stretch of white sand dunes, stunning beaches, tropical forest, fishing village and ancient structures. We should arrive around lunchtime and then the afternoon is yours to relax in our beautiful beach side hotel or to explore the charming town. Optional group dinner.

Ho Chi Minh City

Day 5

Breakfast included at hotel. This morning we'll have a tour of Mui Ne in a vintage Jeep. We'll see the fishing village, as well as the famous Mui Ne sand dunes and the fairy stream. We'll have lunch in Mui Ne, before setting off for the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City, where our tour ends. Here we say goodbye to our fellow travellers and leave with fond memories and new friends! If you're leaving Ho Chi Minh city today, a return transfer to the airport or the train station is included. Otherwise I'll drop you off at your preferred location in Districts 1 or 3.
